Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is simply building rapport. As your therapist, I will get to know you beyond the questionnaire and surveys to gauge how to facilitate our therapeutic sessions to be most effective. We will review the specific challenges you’re facing and create a tailored therapeutic plan to provide a roadmap for your therapeutic journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 15 years of experience, I am able to provide tangible treatments, skills, services , and tools that will improve the your day to day life while on your wellness journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I explore a client’s vision of their therapeutic outcomes to create proposed treatment goals. The client must approve all treatment goals. My ideal client is ready to do the therapeutic work to achieve their optimal level of wellness.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help my clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and patterns of behavior that may be contributing to their struggles. The core idea behind CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. By changing negative or distorted thought patterns, we can ultimately change how we feel and how we act. In our work together, I'll guide you to recognize patterns in your thinking that may be affecting your emotions and actions. We’ll work on identifying cognitive distortions (like all-or-nothing thinking or catastrophizing) and then use practical strategies to reframe those thoughts in a more balanced and realistic way. This often leads to more positive emotions and healthier behaviors. I’ll also help you set achievable goals and practice new ways of thinking or behaving in real-world situations. CBT is very collaborative, so you’ll be actively involved in the process, and we’ll often work together on exercises between sessions to reinforce what we’ve discussed. Overall, the goal of CBT is to empower you to take control of your thoughts and behaviors, and ultimately feel better in your day-to-day life. We’ll move at your pace, and I’m here to support you through the process."

Motivational Interviewing

In a therapeutic setting, I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) helping clients explore their ambivalence, strengthen their intrinsic motivation for change, and work collaboratively toward their goals. I use open-ended questions, reflective listening, and empathy to acknowledge the client’s feelings without pushing for immediate change. This allows the client to explore their own reasons for change and engage in a non-judgmental conversation. The goal is to guide the client to articulate their own reasons for change, making the process more meaningful and sustainable.

I feel like my therapist truly hears my concerns and provides ways for me to resolve my issues with tested and results based techniques. I often leave the sessions feeling encouraged and with strategies I can apply during the upcoming week.

I appreciated how down to earth the therapist was. I am looking forward to learning more about coping mechanisms as well as growing in my mental health journey. I felt heard and validated and feel as though my needs will continue to be addressed going forward with therapy.
