About me

I am Adrian Marin, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to supporting individuals, children, adolescents, and families through life’s challenges. With over 10 years of experience, I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs, helping them build coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and navigate transitions or difficult experiences. My goal is to empower clients to gain insight, develop resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and talk about what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask about your goals, concerns, and any relevant history so we can understand your unique situation. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about how I work and what therapy will look like. Together, we’ll start building a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and begin taking steps toward meaningful change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring extensive experience working with clients of all ages, from children to older adults, across diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My greatest strengths lie in combining evidence-based therapies—like CBT, ACT, TF-CBT, REBT, and Motivational Interviewing—with a compassionate, client-centered approach. I have specialized training in trauma work and crisis intervention, allowing me to support clients through high-stress situations with skill and care. What sets me apart is my ability to tailor therapy to each individual’s needs, integrating techniques that promote insight, emotional resilience, and practical coping skills. I have a strong track record of helping clients navigate challenges, achieve personal goals, and create lasting positive change in their lives. My commitment to ethical, culturally responsive care ensures every client feels heard, respected, and empowered on their journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are ready to make positive changes in their lives, whether they are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, or challenges in relationships and parenting. My ideal clients are open to self-reflection, motivated to develop coping skills, and looking for practical strategies to improve their emotional well-being. I support individuals, adolescents, and families who want to gain insight, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be causing stress, anxiety, or other challenges, and I guide clients in developing practical strategies to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. This approach helps clients gain insight, build coping skills, and make positive, lasting changes in their daily lives.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use TF-CBT to help children, adolescents, and their families process and heal from traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive way. This method combines trauma-sensitive strategies with cognitive-behavioral techniques to reduce distressing thoughts and feelings, improve coping skills, and strengthen emotional resilience. The goal is to help clients regain a sense of safety, confidence, and control in their daily lives.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients develop greater psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. We focus on clarifying personal values and taking meaningful actions that align with those values. This approach helps clients build resilience, reduce suffering caused by stress or negative emotions, and live a more purposeful and fulfilling life.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about making changes in their lives. Through a collaborative and non-judgmental approach, I support clients in identifying their personal motivations and setting goals that feel meaningful to them. This method empowers clients to take actionable steps toward positive change at their own pace, fostering self-confidence and lasting growth.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

I use REBT to help clients identify and challenge irrational beliefs that may be causing emotional distress or unhelpful behaviors. Together, we work on replacing these beliefs with more rational, balanced ways of thinking. This approach helps clients manage emotions more effectively, make healthier decisions, and develop a more positive and realistic outlook on life.
