Hi there! This human experience is quite the journey, isn’t it? The fact that you are struggling does NOT make you weak, it means you are human! Nobody was given a manual for how to live life and we all have our own challenges. Perhaps you feel alone, lost, not good enough, angry, depressed, anxious, or all the above. Perhaps you feel stuck in the past or like you can’t get out of your own way. Whatever you’re struggling with, we can use these challenges to learn from and grow into who we truly are. My intention is always to lead with compassion to create a safe space for you to freely look within and create the life you want.
In our first session together, we will start with getting to know each other briefly, then dive into discussing the challenges that bring you to therapy and explore the goals you have for our time together.
I believe in using a holistic approach to heal the mind, body, and spirit. I use a wide variety of holistic psycho-education and coping skills that you can practice outside of our sessions to gain confidence in your own abilities to help yourself.
I enjoy working with clients who are facing various self-identity questions, who are eager to explore their inner world and to learn insights and tools to become their most authentic self. I love exploring spiritual and religious questions and concerns, those on the Autism Spectrum, those who want to gain confidence and empowerment, young adults transitioning into adult responsibilities, and those struggling with substance abuse and a desire to recover who they are without any substances.
I use a wide variety of treatment methods, interventions, and therapeutic modalities in a natural and authentic way that best serves each client and the changing needs and issues of each client.
I believe from personal and professional experience that a foundation of self-compassion accelerates the healing process. I frequently encourage self-compassion interventions including strength-building self-talk, self-care practices and exercises, and learning to treat ourselves like a friend.
The mind and body are intricately intertwined and feed into each other. So I think we get the most "bang for our buck" when we work on both the mind and body simultaneously. The treatments I use include CBT, shifting the story we are telling ourselves, mindfulness exercises, meditation, relaxation exercises, and more.
