Hi, I'm LaCortney. Do you ever need someone to talk to about becoming motivated to change your behaviors or to manage those of your little ones? I am a licensed clinical social worker in California and Hawaii, and I provide mental health and motivational support for people like you! I help people identify their triggers, learn effective coping and communication skills, and regulate their emotions through self-awareness. We will explore your strengths and self-limiting beliefs to create behaviors and mindsets that allow you to achieve your goals. We will reframe painful experiences and learn emotion regulation using cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Sometimes we need to be heard, and to have an opportunity to receive feedback and guidance as we process our experiences and emotions. Maddox Motivations LLC is here to help you do just that. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will review limits of confidentiality, your presenting concerns, and we will complete a biopsychosocial assessment so I can better understand you and your needs. We will discuss your treatment goals and create a plan to ensure you receive the most from your sessions and observe progress toward your desired outcomes.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

In our sessions, we will use various treatment methods but primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. We will explore your childhood to identify your cognitive beliefs and limitations that influence your behaviors and methods of dealing with stress. We will use motivational interviewing to identify your strengths and areas where you naturally thrive. We will also challenge limiting beliefs and potential blockages to your treatment progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are helping you understand your foundational mindset from childhood and how it drives behaviors throughout your journey. I do this using cognitive behavioral therapy and more specifically, a family genogram. Through the use of a genogram, we can accurately identify patterns of behaviors learned in your family through the generations, making correlations to limitations you observe in yourself today. You can expect a lot of laughs as we learn to adjust our expectations, reduce our stress and enjoy the the process of growth.
