Hello! My name is Samira! I’m a therapist who believes in creating a safe, understanding space where adults can explore what’s holding them back and discover practical ways forward. I value honesty, fairness, and connection, and I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a touch of humor. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life—even when the work gets challenging, or we have to laugh at ourselves along the way.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know you and what’s bringing you to therapy right now. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your goals, challenges, and what’s been working—or not working—for you. Together, we’ll start identifying clear, realistic steps toward the changes you want to see. We’ll also talk about how therapy works—things like confidentiality, boundaries, scheduling, and what you can expect from me (and what I’ll expect from you) as we move forward. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about a clear plan for growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often describe my approach as honest, fair, and grounded—with a good sense of humor when it’s needed. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe to be yourself and can trust your therapist to be both compassionate and straightforward. I aim to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and also gently challenged to grow. I’m transparent about what I see and always approach our work with integrity and collaboration. My focus is on helping you gain clarity, take practical steps forward, and build lasting change that feels authentic to you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults 18 and over who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives but may feel unsure where to start. My clients value honesty, humor, and a straightforward approach—they appreciate someone who can offer both compassion and clarity. Many come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in old patterns they’re ready to break. Whether you’re navigating stress, self-doubt, or relationship challenges, I’ll help you understand what’s getting in the way and take practical steps toward lasting growth and balance.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use EMDR to help clients work through distressing memories or experiences that still feel ‘stuck’ in the present. My approach is calm, structured, and collaborative—you’ll always know what to expect as we move through each step. Together, we build stability and grounding skills before processing deeper experiences, so you feel safe and supported throughout. EMDR can be especially effective for reducing emotional triggers and helping you respond to life with more balance and confidence.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With CBT, we look at how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. I help you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and teach practical ways to shift them. My approach is honest and hands-on—you’ll leave sessions with tools you can use right away. CBT is especially helpful if you want structure, accountability, and strategies that lead to real, measurable progress.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

With ACT, we work on accepting your thoughts and feelings instead of getting stuck trying to push them away—because let’s be honest, some thoughts just won’t quit! We also focus on clarifying your values and using them as a guide to take meaningful action in your life. My approach is practical, collaborative, and sometimes even a little lighthearted, helping you build strategies to stay present, make intentional choices, and move forward—even when life throws curveballs your way.

Eclectic

My approach is eclectic, meaning I pull from different methods to fit what works best for you. I often combine elements of EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness-based techniques depending on your needs and goals. This flexibility allows our work to stay personal and effective—never one-size-fits-all. The focus is always on finding the tools and insights that help you move forward.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness into therapy to help you slow down, stay present, and respond to stress with greater awareness and calm. Mindfulness isn’t about clearing your mind—it’s about noticing your thoughts and emotions without judgment. I often pair mindfulness with CBT or EMDR to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and help you feel more grounded in everyday life.
