As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care for those navigating grief, loss, and life transitions. My approach blends empathy with evidence-based strategies to help you process emotions, honor your experiences, and build resilience. Together, we will create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing feels possible and hope becomes a meaningful part of your individual journey.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on creating a safe, compassionate space where you can share your story at your own pace. I’ll explain how therapy works, review confidentiality, and learn about your goals and what you hope to gain from our work together. Because grief, loss, and life transitions can feel overwhelming and isolating, I approach our time with deep empathy, cultural sensitivity, and respect for your unique experiences. You can expect me to listen without judgment, ask thoughtful questions, and explore both your current concerns and the life events that brought you here. Together, we’ll begin identifying coping tools you can use right away and outline a plan for moving forward. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is creating a compassionate, culturally sensitive space where clients feel safe to share their stories. I blend evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT skills, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing with a deep understanding of grief and loss—shaped not only by training, but by my own experiences. I meet clients where they are, helping them uncover strengths, build resilience, and develop coping tools they can use every day. I’m honored to walk alongside people in their most difficult seasons, helping them process pain, find meaning, and move forward with hope.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults navigating grief, loss, and life transitions who want a compassionate, culturally sensitive space to process and heal. I am especially passionate about working with Black men and women, though I welcome clients of all backgrounds. Many are mourning the death of a loved one, adjusting to changes such as relocation or career shifts, or coping with other profound endings. I understand the deep impact of loss—not just as a therapist, but as someone who has experienced it personally—and I know how isolating it can feel. I also support clients impacted by trauma, including Veterans and those carrying generational or racial stress. My clients come ready to explore their emotions, honor what they’ve lost, and discover ways to move forward. Together, we work to build resilience, foster self-compassion, and create meaning in the chapters ahead.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. Through structured techniques, we work together to develop healthier coping strategies, build resilience, and create lasting changes in mood and functioning. This approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.

Compassion Focused

I use CFT to help clients cultivate self-compassion, reduce self-criticism, and foster emotional healing. This approach blends mindfulness, imagery, and cognitive techniques to support a kinder relationship with oneself, which can ease shame, anxiety, and depression. Together, we work on building inner warmth, understanding, and resilience.

EMDR

I am trained in EMDR but do not currently use the full protocol in my practice. Instead, I incorporate specific elements—such as resourcing and calm place exercises—to help clients build emotional stability, manage distress, and strengthen their ability to cope during difficult moments.

Grief Therapy

I specialize in supporting individuals through the profound challenges of grief and loss, whether related to death, life transitions, or other significant endings. This work is deeply personal to me, as I wish I had access to this kind of support during my own experiences of loss. My approach blends compassion, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based strategies to help clients process emotions, honor what has been lost, and navigate life after loss with resilience and hope.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivation interviewing to help clients explore and strengthen their own motivation for change. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and collaboration, we uncover personal values and goals, address ambivalence, and build confidence in taking steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
