New to Grow
My name is Heather Cobbs, and I am passionate about working with people of all ages and walks of life that are on a journey to grow self love, a positive self image, and are looking to change self talk from negative to positive. It is my pleasure to assist women struggling with anxiety and/or depression to increase their mood by changing self talk, examine negative core beliefs, unravel dysfunctional behavior patterns, and provide tools to meet their life goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
My specialty is creating a space void of judgment where I collaborate with my client and begin to dissect the presenting problem. Together we will explore the possible reasons behind what is happening, and then we can begin working towards breaking behavior and thought patterns that are not useful.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is solution focused and strengths based while utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, and mindfulness. I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and the ability to create your dream life and relationships. I enjoy assisting clients in this process of change. I believe that seeking help with life challenges takes courage and is an act of self-love. It brings me much pleasure to assist you in meeting goals and/or processing life situations..
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am passionate about working with adults that are focused on healing from the past, and are on a journey to grow self love, and a positive self-image with focus on changing self talk from negative to positive. I am a person centered therapist with a warm, interactive, and supportive style. I strive to create a space where my clients feel safe and respected and are able to experience therapy as positive and helpful.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact their mood, confidence, and relationships. Together, we examine the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop practical tools to create lasting change.
Grief Therapy
I provide compassionate grief therapy to support clients navigating the loss of loved ones, relationships, identities, or life transitions. I create a safe space to process complex emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, and longing, while helping clients integrate their loss in a way that honors their experience and supports healing.
Psychodynamic
I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients explore how early relationships and past experiences shape current patterns in self-esteem, attachment, and emotional responses. Together, we uncover unconscious themes that may be influencing present challenges, allowing for deeper insight and lasting change.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients understand and heal the different ‘parts’ of themselves, including the inner critic, people-pleaser, perfectionist, or protective parts. Together, we build a compassionate relationship with these parts so clients can access their core Self — the calm, confident, and grounded center within — leading to deeper self-trust and lasting change.
