New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)in the state of Delaware. Maine, North Carolina, and Virginia. I received a Master's in Social Work at Delaware State University and have been practicing for 11 years. My greatest pleasure is seeing the small and gradual changes you make. I spend more time outside of therapy preparing for you than I do in therapy. My clients describe me as selfless, amazing, non-judgmental, easy to talk to, great at listening, and knowledgeable. "Her investment in me, makes me want to invest in myself. I am having a great time getting to know myself." " I can talk with her all day!" So compassionate!Best provider I could ever ask for. Her compassionate nature is beyond words.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session together is about building a connection. You will be able to sense whether or not I am the right fit for you. Together, we will gather all the necessary facts and analyze the situation. Define the goal and clarify what success looks like. Identify the root cause of the issue. Determine what information is needed and where to find it. And decide on the most effective course of action. Then implement the plan step by step
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength as a provider is getting you to feel safe with me. Letting you know that you are being seen and heard Making good eye contact and using non-verbal language and cues. Meeting you where you are in life's journey Being able to laugh and cry with you when necessary
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve clients who may be dealing with childhood trauma. Yes, our early life experiences let us know who we are and what we can become. And our scars tell where we have been but do not dictate where we are going. My job is to help you know what your triggers are and what coping skills to use so you can live a more productive life.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Most people seek therapy because they need help solving a problem. Together, we will gather all the necessary facts and analyze the situation. Define the goal and clarify what success looks like. Identify the root cause of the issue. Determine what information is needed and where to find it. And decide on the most effective course of action. Then implement the plan step by step.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Memories are not just thoughts; they are also felt. so I help my clients make the connection between their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behavior.
Trauma Informed Care
Our early life experiences let us know who we are and what we can become. This is why I focus on recognizing trauma symptoms and understanding their root causes while providing a safe and supportive environment for my clients to foster healing and resilience.
Compassion Focused
Giving ourselves what we need at the moment to alleviate suffering. Sometimes we may need to feel accepted, sometimes we may need to act. Just being able to help meet our needs with strength and warmth
Couples Counseling
I help couples learn about themselves and about each other. I teach them how to communicate empathically and compassionately to coexist as one unit.
