I am a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) with experience working with individuals, couples, and families through life's challenges. I have worked as an individual and couples therapist, group facilitator, medical social worker, and with the perinatal/postpartum population. My approach is person-centered and strengths-based. I focus on your unique needs and tailor your treatment to help you meet your goals.
Therapy with me is collaborative. The first session is to get to know each other and determine whether we are a good fit. I'll get to know you by asking questions to understand what brings you to therapy. You're welcome to ask me any questions as well.
I use a conversational and relational approach, incorporating elements of Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It is my goal to create a space where clients feel safe and respected through active listening, empathy, and using a person-in-environment lens. I hope that clients leave therapy feeling supported and empowered.
I work with clients who are experiencing life transitions, such as going through a breakup, starting a new career, or moving from one life stage to the next. Often, this looks like someone seeking a clearer understanding of who they are or where they go next. Assisting people in adjusting to new life circumstances, finding fulfillment in the present, and managing anxiety of the unknown are common therapeutic goals in my practice.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I've used parts of DBT in my practice for 3 years to help clients develop balance and change in their lives. DBT focuses on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I've used elements of ACT in my practice for 3 years. ACT encourages psychological flexibility, which can help you clarify your values and take action.
Reality Therapy
Reality therapy helps you identify if your current actions are helping you meet your goals.
