Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California with over 20 years of experience working in a variety of mental health settings. I specialize in supporting minority adults and adolescents who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, and stress. I provide a safe, compassionate space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow. With consistency in treatment, my clients often experience meaningful improvements in managing their thoughts and behaviors, leading to healthier relationships and a more positive life perspective.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session together, we will focus on getting to know one another and creating a safe, supportive space for you to share your story. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, your expectations for treatment, and your personal goals. We will also begin identifying practical strategies and coping tools that can help support your growth and healing. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the work we can do together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Having worked with adolescents and their families from diverse backgrounds for over 20 years, I’ve learned that meaningful change happens when therapy is both compassionate and honest. My therapeutic approach is transparent, direct, and collaborative, helping clients identify and work through the root causes of their challenges and behaviors rather than just the symptoms. I actively support clients in staying accountable to their personal treatment goals, while providing practical tools and guidance to promote lasting symptom relief and personal growth.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal clients are adults from diverse and minority backgrounds who are open-minded, motivated, and ready to engage in meaningful personal growth. They are hopeful about improving their lives but may feel stressed, overwhelmed, stuck, or anxious because they haven’t yet been given the tools, support, or safe space to fully address what they’re carrying. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, family or relationship challenges, trauma, or the pressure of balancing multiple roles and expectations. I enjoy working with individuals who are willing to put in the hard work, reflect honestly, and collaborate in building practical skills to move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and emotional well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my practice, I may use CBT techniques to help individuals identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns, manage stress, cope with difficult emotions, or develop more effective problem-solving skills. I can offer support and guidance in practicing these techniques, and I can provide personalized feedback to help individuals track their progress.
Psychodynamic
In my practice, I can use psychodynamic techniques to help individuals explore and understand the underlying factors that may be contributing to their current challenges. I can provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their thoughts and emotions, and I can offer guidance in gaining insight into their unconscious processes. While psychodynamic therapy is often associated with longer-term treatment, I can adapt these techniques to provide support and insight in a shorter-term setting, depending on the individual's needs and preferences.

I enjoy every moment of having a therapist that is able to listen to me and My Thoughts for my every day life as a father. Mrs.Taylor is a very thoughtful woman and is very understanding about my situation as I learn to use the tools from my therapy sessions with her. Thank you so very much!
