New to Grow
I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) licensed therapist who works with teens and adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I use proven therapy methods to help clients better understand their emotions, behaviors, and thought patterns. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused approaches, and Motivational Interviewing. I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorders, trauma, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, meaning we work together to set goals and build coping skills that fit each person’s unique needs. I often provide practical tools—such as worksheets and exercises—to support progress outside of sessions. I aim to help clients heal, grow, and develop strategies that lead to healthier and more fulfilling lives. For those who desire it, I can also integrate Christian-based counseling to offer additional support aligned with personal beliefs.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In a first session, I focus on creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients can comfortably share what brings them to therapy and what they hope to gain from it. I take time to gather background information, understand current concerns, and clarify goals so we can establish a clear direction for our work together. I might conduct some assessments to understand symptom frequency and intensity better. By the end of the session, we collaborate on next steps and ensure clients feel grounded, informed, and empowered moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What makes my work unique is my ability to combine warmth, compassion, and a highly individualized, evidence-based approach. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic methods—including CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing—to tailor treatment to each client’s specific needs rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I specialize in supporting adolescents and young adults through complex emotional challenges, life transitions, and relationship or work-related stress, offering both understanding and clear, practical guidance. Clients appreciate that I create a safe, non-judgmental space while also providing actionable tools, worksheets, and coping strategies that encourage growth beyond the therapy room. For those who value it, I am also open to integrating faith-based support, offering an additional layer of meaning and grounding in the healing process.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
As a therapist, I’m best positioned to support young adults who are navigating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, or the overwhelm that often comes with major life transitions. I work especially well with clients who feel stuck in patterns that affect their relationships, work, or sense of direction and are seeking clarity, emotional balance, and practical tools for change. I work well with individuals who want to understand themselves more deeply, build healthier patterns, and move toward a more balanced and meaningful life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my sessions, I use cognitive-behavioral therapy to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and understand how those thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors. Together, we break down these patterns and practice practical skills—such as cognitive reframing, behavioral activation, and structured problem-solving—to create meaningful, sustainable change. Throughout the process, I provide guidance, real-time feedback, and collaborative goal-setting to ensure each client feels supported and empowered as they build healthier habits and responses.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In my sessions, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients develop a more flexible relationship with their thoughts and emotions, focusing on allowing experiences rather than struggling against them. We work together to clarify personal values and use those values to guide meaningful, consistent action, even in the presence of discomfort. Throughout the process, I incorporate mindfulness-based strategies to build awareness, strengthen psychological resilience, and support clients in creating a life that feels aligned and purposeful.
Motivational Interviewing
In my sessions, I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their ambivalence with compassion and curiosity, guiding them to identify their own reasons for change. Through reflective dialogue and strengths-based collaboration, I support clients in building confidence and commitment toward the goals that matter most to them.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
In my sessions, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their existing strengths and uncover practical steps that move them toward their desired outcomes. By focusing on what’s already working and amplifying small successes, clients build momentum and confidence as they create meaningful, achievable change. I maintain a collaborative, future-oriented approach that keeps clients anchored in solutions rather than problems.
Faith based therapy
In my sessions, I use faith-based therapy to integrate a client’s spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process, helping them find meaning, strength, and guidance through their faith. This approach allows us to explore emotional challenges while grounding coping strategies and personal growth in the spiritual principles that feel most supportive and authentic to the client.
