I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW118953) in the state of California with over 7 years of experience working with individuals of various ages and backgrounds. I utilize culturally sensitive therapy techniques and incorporate a person-centered approach into the work I do with clients. I am trained in a variety of therapy modalities and utilize an integrative approach with Psychodynamic, Narrative, Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Most importantly, my approach is collaborative and tailored to the specific needs of the client, recognizing that everyone is unique in their own experience. I provide a warm and empathetic space where we can explore your emotions and experiences together. I utilize both lived experience and clinical training to work through the issues I support clients work through. Witnessing resilience and growth in each client is a privilege, and my goal is to empower you to define your path to self-discovery and acceptance. My career path choice stems from being a first-generation bicultural Latina in Los Angeles. Having lived in my home country of Nicaragua for over 9 years, I learned first hand the amount of stigma that remains in the Latinx community surrounding mental health. My goal is to be a social agent of change for the Latinx community by providing high quality services that break down stigma barriers and will positively impact generations to come.
The first session with me will consist of getting to know each other and informally discussing the challenges that you are seeking support for and subsequently, we start collaborating on a plan of how to get there. I also take time to answer any questions you may have about me and/or therapy services.
Having worked in the mental health field for the past 7 years, my greatest strengths consist of empowering clients to embark on a journey of self-discovery and acceptance, all while remaining open to flexibility and pivoting goals. I understand that goals and desires can shift, and being adaptable to working with clients to achieve THEIR personal goals is key.
I have a passion for working with older adults, particularly in the Latinx community, who come to therapy with very little understanding of therapy and have never had anyone listen or validate their experiences. In the Latinx community, the culture around having feelings is very restrictive. I love being the person that allows them to be themselves and step into vulnerability.

CBT is utilized to assist clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Clients utilize interventions and tools to cope with everyday stressors that interfere with their overall well-being.
Grief is the hardest emotion to experience. Grief therapy aids clients in providing a safe and supportive space to go through the stages of grief alongside a professional, free of judgement.
Utilizing a strengths-based approach, I help clients tap into their natural strengths and resources to overcome obstacles and curve balls that life may throw.
I incorporate attachment-based therapy into my practice by discussing how our attachment style contributes to our mental well-being.
