About me

Hi, I’m Gigi — a fat-positive, queer therapist with over 15 years of experience in mental health, and a deep commitment to creating space for healing, exploration, and radical self-acceptance. I believe therapy is for anyone seeking growth, clarity, or peace — especially those who’ve been told they were “too much” or “not enough.” I specialize in working with clients navigating identity, gender, sexuality, body image, and nontraditional relationships. My goal is to help you reconnect with your most authentic self and build a life that feels like it belongs to you. My work is rooted in curiosity, humility, and compassion. I draw from a variety of approaches, including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and attachment-based work — all through a feminist and socially conscious lens. I also recognize the complex systems of power that shape our experiences, and I aim to make therapy a collaborative space where your voice is centered and respected. What matters most to me is that you feel seen, heard, and supported. I know what it feels like to move through the world feeling unwelcome or unseen — and I’m here to offer something different. Together, we’ll explore the patterns that no longer serve you, celebrate what makes you beautifully unique, and find ways to move forward with more confidence, self-love, and ease. You are the expert in your life. I’m here to offer tools, perspective, and a steady hand — not to fix you, but to walk alongside you as you build the life that feels like home.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll walk you through how I practice, complete an initial assessment, and begin exploring the goals or concerns that brought you to therapy. You are the expert in your experience — my role is to offer support, tools, and space as you move toward the version of yourself or the life that feels most true to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My sense of compassion, genuine curiosity and care are important to my identity as a clinician. I also am someone who has experienced feeling othered, unwelcome and unacceptable in out society. I have tried to hide when I felt that I didn't fit into society's standards, and I have been on a journey of discovering my authentic self, and traversed the terrifying thrill of being seen and perceived more authentically. My sense of humility is important as well; I do not have all the answers nor do I know what will work for you; I can offer tools, questions and support but you are the one who decides what works for you or not. My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment theory suggests that the care and connection we had with our primary caregivers impacts our relationships to ourselves and others later in life. Together we will work to identify these patterns, and discover tools and techniques to build healthy and vibrant relationships in the present.

Compassion Focused

My practice is person first; before we can work there has to be trust and safety. I hope to support you in treating yourself with kindness and compassion instead of guilt or shame or critical self talk

Feminist

As a feminist therapist I recognize the inherent power structure in the therapeutic relationship, and work to be transparent. By deconstructing and creating transparency around the oppressive systems in our culture I hope to empower and affirm your own sense of agency. Despite the title this treatment is not focused on gender, but is instead in opposition to the Patriarchal, capitalistic society we in the US exist in
