New to Grow
I’m Alea Frazier, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania with over 13 years of experience in the mental health field. My background includes extensive work in grief and loss, anger management, and anxiety/stress, but what truly matters is how those experiences connect to you. Therapy with me isn’t about labels or checklists, it’s about creating a safe, real space where you don’t have to “perform” or have it all figured out. My approach is down-to-earth, compassionate, and honest. I meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they navigate pain, discover their strengths, and move toward lasting growth.
Our first session is all about you, not just what’s been hard, but also your story, strengths, and goals. You can expect me to ask open questions and listen without judgment while you share what brought you here. If you’re dealing with grief, we may explore the weight of your loss. If it’s anger, we’ll start to notice the patterns and triggers. If it’s anxiety or stress, we’ll look at how it’s showing up day to day. My goal is to make that first session feel like a conversation, not an interrogation. By the end, you’ll have a sense of what it’s like to work together and some clarity about the steps we’ll take moving forward.
My greatest strength as a therapist is being genuine and creating a space where people feel both safe and challenged. I bring deep experience in helping clients process grief, manage anger, and break free from the grip of anxiety, but what stands out most is how I connect with people. Clients tell me they appreciate that I’m approachable, empathetic, and not afraid to be real. I’ll walk with you through the hard moments, but I’ll also help you see patterns, challenge old ways of thinking, and take brave steps toward change. Healing happens when you feel supported and empowered, and that’s exactly the balance I bring to every session.
I work best with adults who are ready to face the challenges that keep them feeling stuck, whether it’s grieving a loss, struggling with anger that feels hard to control, or battling the constant pressure of anxiety and stress. Many of my clients are caregivers, professionals, or people who put others first while quietly carrying their own pain. They’re tired of holding it all together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed on the inside. If you want a therapist who will be empathetic but also real, someone who helps you unpack the hard stuff while encouraging your growth, then you’re in the right place.
I’ve been utilizing CBT for over 8 years within my 13 years of experience in the mental health field. CBT has been a powerful tool in helping clients recognize and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, reduce anxiety, and manage stress. In sessions, I work with you to build practical coping skills that connect your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you feel more empowered and in control of your life.
With over 5 years of experience using Motivational Interviewing, I create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your goals and values. Together, we tap into your own motivation for change and develop the confidence to take meaningful steps forward. My role is to guide and encourage you, while honoring your pace and your voice in the process.
For many years, I’ve practiced Person-Centered Therapy, creating a safe and empathetic environment for clients to engage in honest self-reflection. I believe every person has the inner strength to grow, and my role is to walk alongside you as you build self-awareness, find your own solutions, and move toward lasting change. This approach allows our therapeutic relationship to grow naturally, built on trust and authenticity.
