Hello, my name is Danielle. I am licensed in New York, Florida, and Michigan with over 25 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and life coach with individuals of all ages. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting stress, and career challenges. I have also helped many people who have experienced family and generational trauma as well as grief and loss. My counseling style is warm, reflective, and encouraging. I believe in treating everyone with respect, compassion, and openness. I believe everyone is doing the best they can. My approach combines a blend of mindfulness, energy psychology, and modalities (like tapping and EMDR) found to heal trauma quicker than talk therapy alone. The first session is full of information gathering so I may learn what brings you here in this moment in your life. We will make a plan at the end of the first session and I will suggest modalities that I think may work well. Even though I will offer suggestions, you are in complete control and we can start with any modality you prefer and go at your unique pace.
Some of my biggest strengths are really listening and tuning into the emotions and the emotional energy. I do not want my clients to relive trauma so I work in a way that we do not stay in the "story" for too long, just long enough to gather what is needed to do the healing work.
I enjoy working with adult clients who are seeking and open to a body to mind approach to their symptoms.
I use the EMDR model to fidelity and follow the exact prompts created and researched by the original institute. You can expect that we will spend several sessions with history taking and practicing stabilization techniques. We will create a treatment plan and then spend the next sessions using the EMDR technique of eye movements.
Energy psychology is a big part of my practice as well.
