New to Grow
As a recovering perfectionist, I understand the power of anxiety and aim to partner with you in finding the strategies that work for you to feel your best, or at least your better. We may not find the "right" answer, but we will find options. When the to-do list becomes too long, I would like to build a tool box of coping skills to make your life more manageable.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Starting therapy takes courage and knowing what to expect can make it that much easier. Although the first session may include a lot of questions, my focus is to make therapy a conversation to better understand who you are and what you are looking to achieve. My goal is to understand your experience and partner in finding you some calm and peace.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe in the power of community and it would be my pleasure to join you in creating the community that supports the life you want. In addition to community, I support the inherent strengths that each of us have as individuals. I appreciate the practical application of therapy to what can not only improve symptoms, but how our work together can increase your ability to find your strengths and come closer to the person you want to be.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with people who may seem to have it all together but are struggling more inside and may feel unheard. I hear you.
Narrative
Your version of the story makes a difference in your experience of events in your life. Our work together will craft a narrative that helps you to understand previous events and move forward with new meaning.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We work together to identify how your brain reacts to different situations and learn concrete skills so you may approach stress with new skills that have been shown to work for many people.
Strength-Based
I choose to focus on the inherent strengths that are brought to treatment and enhance those strengths so that people can use their inner wisdom to enhance responses to stressful events.
