My ideal client is someone who needs help reaching their highest potential and decrease emotional suffering. They should be ready and willing to begin receiving guidance on how to reach their peak. I believe in self-determination and that individuals can find solutions with the right support. I offer a person centered approach that relies on the client's self-determination. It is my goal to really get to know clients and understand their unique needs. I believe in individual treatment and client can expect to be treated as such. Building rapport also is important so I prefer to take therapy at a pace that feels comfortable for the client. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- A modality that focuses on skill building and reframing negative thoughts. Person Centered Therapy- It puts the Client in control and uses a strength based approach. Motivational Interviewing- Encourages and promotes motivation in clients by exploring barriers and affirming strengths. Gestalt Therapy- This modality focuses on the 'here and now'. Some forms of therapy involve a lot of delving into the past. Gestalt uses your current presentation and environment as a starting point. It focuses on communication, awareness, and emotional regulation.
