About me

I’m Dr. Angela Jackson, a culturally competent, faith-informed therapist who helps clients unpack emotional burdens, reconnect with their truth, and begin the work that leads to lasting change. I serve adults often professionals navigating grief, anxiety, burnout, relationship wounds, and life transitions — especially those who are tired of pretending everything is fine. My approach is collaborative and grounded in CBT, narrative therapy, and cultural awareness, creating space for both honesty and healing. Whether you're carrying the weight of expectations, masking pain, or searching for clarity, I help you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where we begin to explore what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your concerns, your story, and your goals. This is also your time to ask questions, share at your own pace, and get a feel for how I work. My goal is to build trust and clarity from the start, so you feel supported and empowered to move forward in your healing process. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or ready to dive in — you don’t have to have it all figured out before we begin. If you’re new to therapy or feeling nervous, that’s completely okay — you won’t be pressured to share more than you’re ready for. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll take the first step toward clarity and healing at a pace that feels safe for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is helping clients experience meaningful progress sooner than they expected. I combine clinical insight, cultural competence, and practical tools to create a therapy experience that is both affirming and effective. My approach blends structured interventions with deep emotional exploration, which helps clients move from stuck to steady — often within the first few sessions. For more complex diagnoses like Major Depression, I provide consistent, long-term support grounded in evidence-based care, collaboration, and compassion. Whether short-term or ongoing, I help clients feel seen, motivated, and equipped to navigate life with greater clarity and emotional resilience.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to serve clients who are ready to explore the deeper “why” behind their stress, sadness, or stuck points. Many of my clients are high-functioning but emotionally exhausted—navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, or burnout from caregiving, career, or relationship roles. Some are used to being the strong one, often pushing through without being fully seen. Others are in a tender season of change and want to heal quietly and intentionally. Whether you're seeking clarity, confidence, or peace, I provide a space where you can be real, reflect without judgment, and do the meaningful work of emotional growth and recovery.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use culturally responsive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that impact mood, relationships, and decision-making. Together, we explore how past experiences, beliefs, and current stressors shape behavior — and develop practical strategies to support healing, clarity, and emotional balance. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated support to connect therapeutic goals with spiritual values. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel empowered to make meaningful, lasting change.

Christian Counseling

I am a Christian therapist, and many of the clients I work with also identify as Christian, though the role of faith in therapy varies from person to person. Some clients want their spiritual beliefs to guide the therapeutic process, while others bring in faith as needed. I offer Christian-integrated counseling for those who seek it, blending biblical principles, prayer, and reflection with evidence-based approaches like CBT and psychodynamic insight. Whether faith is front and center or gently woven in, I provide a supportive, culturally competent space to explore life’s challenges and pursue meaningful growth.

Strength-Based

The strength-based approach focuses on what’s working in your life — not just what’s broken. In our work together, I help you identify and build on your existing strengths, values, and lived experiences to support healing and progress. Whether it’s resilience developed through past challenges, cultural identity, personal values, or problem-solving skills, we’ll use those strengths as a foundation for growth. This approach is empowering, collaborative, and encourages clients to move forward with confidence and clarity.
