New to Grow
Hi, my name is Xiomara Mendoza, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with adults and teenagers, supporting them through challenges such as anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach combines CBT, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR and TF-CBT, which allows me to tailor treatment to each client's needs. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients can build coping skills, heal from difficult experiences, and discover healthier ways of moving forward.
During the first session getting to know each other. I'll ask questions about your background, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This is your opportunity to share what feels more important for me to understand about you, your experiences, and your goals. There is no pressure-you set the pace, and my goals is for you to leave feeling comfortable and understood.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I take a collaborative approach, tailoring each session to fit your needs rather than using a "one size-fits-all" method. By integrating an eclectic approach, i help clients not only manage symptoms like anxiety or stress, but also process difficult experiences. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to balance compassion with practical tools, so they leave sessions feeling both supported and empowered to make real changes in their lives.
I work with teens and adults who my feel stuck in cycles of worry, self-doubt, or painful past experiences. I am ready to help those that are seeking relief from trauma, anxiety or overwhelming stress, but also they want to break unhelpful patterns and create healthier ways of thinking and living. My therapy goals is to create a safe, supportive space where they can build confidence, resilience and hope for the future.
I have extensive experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to adolescents and adults. I utilize CBT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping strategies, and build healthier behaviors.
