I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana with over 8 years’ experience in the field, with 3 of those years being as a practicing therapist. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I help teenagers and young adults that have experienced a traumatic event gain clarity and heal from their past.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I am a strong believer that building a therapeutic relationship and establishing trust is an integral part of the process. In our first session we will spend time getting to know each other so that I am in the best position to assist you in establishing and monitoring your own goals towards mental wellness.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with victims of trauma for the past 8 years I have learned that every individual is just that, a unique person with their own experiences and needs. This is why building a trusting therapeutic relationship is of crucial importance. I am here to serve as an empathetic and non-judgmental listening ear that helps you in this healing journey.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

This is an evidence-based practice that analyzes thoughts, feelings, and actions as a way of processing traumatic events. I primarily use this treatment model to assist clients after reaching some stabilization with present symptoms. This model can assist in addressing the root cause of those symptoms and thus help individuals to achieve a greater sense of healing.

EMDR

This is an evidence-based treatment model that assists with the management and treatment of mental health symptoms and disorders that arise from traumatic memories. I primarily use this treatment model to assist clients after reaching some stabilization with present symptoms. This model can assist in addressing the root cause of those symptoms and thus help individuals to achieve a greater sense of healing.

Grief Therapy

Utilizing the dual processing model of grief therapy, I assist clients in finding the balance between feeling the emotions associated with the loss while also finding a way to continue with everyday task and life.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based talk therapy method that I utilize to assist individuals in making desired behavior changes. I have over 6 years’ experience with this method.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is a therapeutic practice style that takes into account an individual’s past and how it may affect and contribute to present day behaviors and actions. It is often best explained by the switch from asking the question "what is wrong with you?" to asking the question "what happened to you?" This style of therapy is often combined with other therapeutic methods to treat clients that have a trauma history.
