I’m Kathryn Chacra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor with over 20 years of experience. I specialize in supporting adults and teens with ADHD and those navigating emotional eating. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I provide a compassionate, practical, and personalized approach to therapy, helping clients embrace their neurodiversity, heal their relationship with food, and create strategies that support long-term growth. My goal is to offer a safe, affirming space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward. I am wholeheartedly committed to aiding fellow Texans on their healing journey - be it from attachment issues or relationship challenges, managing grief and loss, setting goals or assisting their children with anxiety/depression or adjustment disorders.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I’ll guide us through a relaxed conversation where we get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what’s been feeling hard, and what you hope to get out of therapy. You don’t need to prepare or have all the answers — I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help us explore together. I’ll also share a bit about how I work, answer any questions you have, and make sure you feel safe, supported, and in control of your pace. The goal is to create a space that feels comfortable and collaborative from the start.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is creating a nonjudgmental, welcoming space where clients feel truly seen and understood. I bring a mix of clinical expertise, lived experience, and deep empathy to my work — especially with clients who’ve felt overlooked or misunderstood in traditional therapy. I’m collaborative, honest, and down-to-earth. I help clients move at their own pace, while also gently challenging patterns that no longer serve them. I'm especially skilled at working with ADHD and emotional eating through a lens of curiosity, compassion, and real-life strategies that work.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with teens and adults (15+) navigating ADHD, emotional eating, or both. Many of my clients are deeply creative, thoughtful, and driven, but feel stuck in patterns of overwhelm, procrastination, shame, or burnout. Some are newly diagnosed and just starting to understand their brain; others have been masking for years and are ready for real support. I also love working with clients who struggle with their relationship with food and want to move toward healing without judgment. If you're tired of feeling like you're too much and not enough at the same time, you're in the right place. My practice offers boutique-style care, flexible support between sessions, and a therapy experience that feels personal, not clinical.
