About me

I have been a double board-certified nurse practitioner for over 5 years, and I'm passionate about using my nearly 20 years of nursing experience to empower individuals struggling with mental health. Beyond my dedication to my family (married to a wonderful man and blessed with 4 lovely children), I find joy in exploring the world, having visited 5 continents! When I'm not caring for patients or navigating family life, I'm dreaming of adventures in the remaining two! Professionally, I find it incredibly rewarding to witness the positive transformations my patients go through. Helping them find relief from their struggles and build a fulfilling life is incredibly motivating. Also, mental health is an essential part of overall well-being. I am passionate about reducing stigma and helping people understand the importance of mental health care.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect a focus on getting to know them and understanding their needs. The main focus of the first session, getting their mental health history, current symptoms, any medical history, social history. Based on the assessment, we would collaboratively discuss their goal for treatment and what improvement they hope to achieve. I hope to discussed potential treatments tailored to their needs, which might include talk therapy. I hope to discuss pros and cons of each options and answer any questions they might have. Finally, schedule a date to evaluate how treatment has been going since first our first session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength lies in my deep compassion for those seeking mental health support. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly heard and understood. Their struggles resonate with me, and I'm dedicated to alleviating their suffering. However, compassion goes hand-in-hand with a solution-oriented approach. I don't just listen; I actively work alongside clients to identify the root of their challenges. I'm skilled at collaboratively developing evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their unique needs. For instance, a client struggling with anxiety might benefit from mindfulness techniques alongside medication. By combining my empathy with a solution-focused approach, I can empower them to manage their anxiety and improve their quality of life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

The mental health population I especially love to serve encompasses individuals struggling with a broad range of conditions. This includes those grappling with depression, anxiety, and ADHD, but also extends to those experiencing panic attacks, PTSD, OCD, and binge eating. Witnessing the unique challenges each person faces motivates me. There's immense joy in empowering them with tools for self-compassion and helping them find relief from their struggles, whether it's managing emotional states, reducing anxious thoughts, gaining control over focus, or overcoming overwhelming compulsions. It's an honor to walk alongside them as they navigate their mental health journey and ultimately improve their quality of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that can help you manage negative thoughts and emotions that contribute to problems in your daily life. I use this therapy treatment by first collaborating with the patient and identifying unhelpful thinking patterns. Next, I challenge and help patients reframe negative thoughts. Together we developed realistic coping skills.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is a type of psychotherapy that combines mindfulness meditation practices with traditional talk therapy techniques. I use this to aim to increase patients' awareness of their present moment experiences, thoughts, and feelings without judgment. By cultivating this present moment awareness, patients can learn to detach from unhelpful thought patterns and emotional responses, ultimately reducing stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. I used this therapy by practicing mindful breathing, body scan meditation, mindful movement.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a PMHNP, I integrate DBT into my practice by: • Individual Therapy: Prioritizing the therapeutic relationship, addressing immediate crises, and teaching skills. • Skills Training: I conduct sessions to teach mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. • Phone Coaching: I offer immediate support and guidance during crises and reinforce skill use. Additionally • I integrate DBT with medication management. • Tailor DBT to individual needs and cultural backgrounds. • Collaborate with other healthcare providers if and when needed. By incorporating DBT into my practice, I provide comprehensive and effective care for clients with complex mental health needs.

I changed to Titi after not getting both types of treatments., I wanted someone that could help with both. I gravitated with her profile and decided to give her a try. After our first appointment, went so smoothly I started to look forward to our appoinment. She discussed helping me wean off certain medications and focus on how to manage problems without medication. Each appointment has only got better. I appreciate the empathy, and directness. She has been the perfect match.
