Establishing a relationship with a therapist you can trust can be one of the most important steps you can take in your healing journey. As a therapist, I strive to create a space where you feel safe to be your authentic self and make progress toward who you are becoming as you grow through life’s challenges. If you choose to partner with me in your healing journey, you will find yourself in a collaborative relationship with a skilled and experienced therapist, who is motivated by the transformative power of compassion and empathy while delivering evidence-based care.
Our first session will begin the journey of developing a therapeutic relationship. I am interested in what prompted you to seek therapy now, what you are hoping to gain from therapy, what your expectations for therapy are, and would like to begin the process of understanding your story. This should feel like a conversation and I will ask clarifying questions along the way as well as provide relevant information that may be of benefit to you. We will also discuss how often we will meet and a flexible timeline for our time together.
My approach is eclectic. I have a toolbox of various interventions, techniques, and resources I can use to individualize care and pass along to you as you build your own toolbox for managing life. The most important thing people have shared when working with me is that they feel: 1) safe within the helping relationship 2) cared for and that their therapist is truly present with them in the moment 3) respected and heard 4) empowered and equipped to make progress in their own growth, development, and healing
