Hi there! My name is Chinh. If you’ve reached my page, chances are that your heart has been broken, you probably just had the umpteenth argument with your significant other, or you are just tired of the endless cycle of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and irrational thoughts/beliefs. Or possibly, you are here because of all of the above! Let me help you. I come from a culture that does not typically believe in mental illness. Emotional issues were either ignored or swept under the rug. I was taught growing up that it wasn't normal to want to talk about my feelings; showing any type of emotion was a sign of weakness. Because of my upbringing, my hope as a therapist is not only to help end the stigma associated with mental illness, but also help normalize it. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. I also have a Ph.D. in Counseling. I have years of experience as a social worker, working with adults, couples, and families. I use a strength-based and holistic approach to motivate and empower my clients to problem-solve new ways to create positive and lasting changes in their lives.
In our first session together, we will go through the intake form to make sure everything is correct. The first session gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and it gives us a chance to get to know each other to determine whether it would be a good fit. Afterall, it is important for you to get to know the person you are pouring your heart out to.
I've been told by the people closest to me that I am a great listener. I am non-judgmental and will always focus on people's strengths first and foremost. Empathy and genuineness are also traits I possess. I want to walk alongside you to help you get from a place of darkness and sadness to that of hope and healing.
