New to Grow
Hello! I am delighted that you have considered me to be your new therapist. Over several years, I have found a special place in therapeutic services and have been amazed in how certain treatment methods or techniques significantly help clients and their families find healing. I have worked with children, adults and families and find that we, (yes, even myself), all have one thing in common: to feel better. Whether that is wanting to feel better about a decision needing to be made, overcoming heavy feelings from a traumatic event or accepting how you were uniquely designed and that your existence matters. I believe that everyone deserves to have professional support at any given moment in their lives and truly honor your commitment to yourself by seeking that support here and now.
First sessions are considered intake appointments where we talk about all of the tedious (and very necessary) information to better understand your needs and how I can best support you. Please have all intake documents completed before our first session. This gives me a glimpse of what is going on and how you may be doing currently. We'll continue to build rapport overtime and hopefully, together, we can witness your healing journey and personal success in treatment.
Person In Environment or "PIE" is what students like myself learned while studying to hold space for real people with real concerns. Today, I find that the process remains; in order to provide any support to anyone, I must first know who they are in each environment they experience. What roles do you play at home, school, work, church or in the community? Are you satisfied with these roles and do you feel they contribute to a healthier you? Unfortunately, I do not give advice. Instead, I become familiar with who you are overtime and hold your unique flavor (or, "PIE") with care and attention while you decide how to live a healthier and happier version of yourself.
We have potential to be a great match if you are looking for a therapist to help you navigate life transitions; one that can be honest with you while also validating and empathizing your feelings. If you need a space to process emotions or sort through solutions that best align with your core values and beliefs, we may be right for each other - professionally, that is :) If you are grieving, feeling depressed, anxious, angry, alone or a mixed-range of emotions and you're ready to talk about it, welcome to your new virtual couch.
Experiences in utero, our childhood and our younger years form templates in our brain that shape our perceptions and world views. With this form of treatment, I support clients in processing repressed or unconsious emotions to reveal new outlooks and find emotional relief.
Being trauma-informed allows me to best support you where you are. My client's may have different experiences, nonetheless all experiences should be treated with proper empathy and care. In order to open up, you must first feel safe.
Mindfulness includes being aware of your present self, environment and body. Together we will identify practical ways to calm your nervous system to promote a healthier and more mindful life.
It's true; our mental health and walk with Christ go together like water and ice. No matter where you are in your walk or how much you know about mental health, my goal is to support you in recognizing where your strength ends and His begins.
Family therapy can be the most healing form of therapy while also being the most difficult and complex therapy to navigate. With each member's willingness to work though and pull back their own layer of the onion, you may find peace and/or understanding in your family unit.
