Hello my name is Vanessa! As a client-centered, strength-based therapist, I will meet you where you are, listen with empathy, and provide you with support and unconditional positive regard. I am skilled in working with anxiety, depression, trauma and women's issues. I also work with those in recovery from substance abuse/addiction and eating disorders (on an outpatient basis), codependency and co-occurring chronic medical issues. I have specialized knowledge of Diabulimia (Type 1 Diabetes + Bulimia) and am a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I can help you to improve your relationships and learn to establish healthy boundaries, Increase self-esteem and self-acceptance and learn to cope with stress. To do this I will help you identify unhelpful thoughts and patterns, set goals in a collaborative process then act as a mirror for your inner experience as you find your true values and sense of self. I even have specialized training in Brain spotting, and trauma-informed yoga!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will get to know each other and I will assess your needs to help you set goals for treatment. I will talk with you about how my therapeutic techniques will help you to reach your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is that I am intuitive and empathic. I will listen and support you on your journey and hold a safe space for you to heal while you reach your goals. One of my favorite specialties to practice is Brain spotting. Brain spotting is such a powerful approach in that it is evidence-based and is proven to be THE MOST effective modality to treat trauma. I've seen it work wonders with many clients and I am glad to offer it. It's helpful to decrease anxiety, depression, and addiction, improve sleep, decrease pain and much more. Memories of trauma are stored deep in the brain and brain spotting assists to help one process these stored memories out of your body and brain in a safe and supported way. This modality goes great with yoga and meditation as it is body-based!
