“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” — C.S. Lewis. I believe we all have the ability to heal and transform our lives - and we all have a unique path to get us there. Let’s discover your deepest truths together so that your heart and mind may be renewed and you might live more abundantly. If you're willing to do some work, I will work hard to create a safe space for you, and we can collaborate on this journey together. I have Master's degrees in Counseling and Religious Studies, so I can incorporate spiritual guidance into counseling if you would like(completely optional). I also have training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and worked previously as a hospital chaplain which was an incredible experience. However, I'm proud to say that I have formed wonderful relationships with clients of all bends, and even of no particular faith background. I have respect for all faiths and traditions as long as they are life-giving. "You shall know [Your] truth, and it shall set you free."
I will do my best to earn your trust by providing a warm, open, completely non-judgemental environment. We will start by doing a comprehensive intake to assess your current needs and strengths. From there, I will help you look at yourself deeply and honestly, develop skills and new perspectives to help you change any unhelpful thought patterns, reduce anxiety, and develop new behaviors to help you live a better life. I utilize a variety of techniques in order to help my clients return to the truest form of themselves - happy, accepting, loving, and free.
I believe that my greatest strengths as a provider are found in my ability to listen with empathy and compassion, grasp the unique experiences and perspectives of my clients, and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings honestly. I strive to be collaborative in my approach, working with clients as partners in their therapeutic journey and empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. I am committed to ongoing learning and growth; staying informed about the latest research and therapeutic techniques to provide the best possible care. My clients have told me that they find me easy-going, caring, honest, insightful, and even funny. Feel free to give me a call or send me a message on here. Let's journey together.
Please know that you are absolutely not alone in your struggles - we all need help and support to live our best lives. If you need help finding and claiming your voice, understanding how God may be working within your life and your struggles, or finding yourself constantly at the mercy of strong emotions, I'm your woman. I have experience and feel well-equipped in helping clients work through many kinds of issues. Let's renew your heart and mind to help you live more abundantly.
Nicole Patrick offers therapy covered by Parkland Community Health Plan - Medicaid and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I employ many modes of therapy. A few I really like to use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive behavioral therapy, Rogerian, and Motivational Interviewing. With Acceptance and Commitment therapy, I'll teach you how to acknowledge and accept whatever you're feeling, remind yourself it's okay to feel it, and then work on strategies to help you manage those emotions. I appreciate modes of therapy that help you grow in self-awareness and mindfulness.
