Whatever you may be feeling (and for whatever reasons), your emotions are valid. Your thoughts and pain are valid. There are reasons behind them. Let's explore them together to help you meet your goals and find a helpful perspective. I have Master's degrees in Counseling and Religious Studies so I can incorporate spiritual guidance into counseling if you would like(completely optional). I have training in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and worked previously as a hospital chaplain which was an incredible experience. However, I'm proud to say that I have formed wonderful relationships with clients who are both spiritual and non-spiritual. I truly believe that everyone can improve themselves, find healing, and live a more fulfilling life with the right tools, honesty and openness, the willingness to make necessary changes, and a non-judgmental, compassionate environment. I work hard to create this for my clients.
I will do my best to earn your trust by providing a warm, open, completely non-judgemental environment. We will start by doing a comprehensive intake to assess your current needs and strengths. From there, I will help you look at yourself deeply and honestly, develop skills and new perspectives to help you change any unhelpful thought patterns, reduce anxiety, and develop new behaviors to help you live a better life. I utilize a variety of techniques in order to help my clients return to the truest form of themselves - happy, accepting, loving, and free.
I believe that my greatest strengths as a provider are found in my ability to listen with empathy and compassion, grasp the unique experiences and perspectives of my clients, and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings honestly. I strive to be collaborative in my approach, working with clients as partners in their therapeutic journey and empowering them to make positive changes in their lives. I am committed to ongoing learning and growth; staying informed about the latest research and therapeutic techniques to provide the best possible care. My clients have told me that they find me easy-going, caring, honest, insightful, and even funny. Feel free to give me a call or send me a message on here. Let's journey together.
Nicole Patrick offers therapy covered by Medicaid - Superior HealthPlan, Superior HealthPlan (Managed Medicaid) and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
I employ many modes of therapy. A few I really like to use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive behavioral therapy, Rogerian, and Motivational Interviewing. With Acceptance and Commitment therapy, I'll teach you how to acknowledge and accept whatever you're feeling, remind yourself it's okay to feel it, and then work on strategies to help you manage those emotions. I appreciate modes of therapy that help you grow in self-awareness and mindfulness.
