Hello! It's great to meet you. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Indiana, I've been serving clients for the past 18 years after graduating from Indiana University in 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Ball State University in 1991. I'm passionate about listening to the unique stories of each individual I work with and to be a part of their therapeutic journey.
In our initial session, our priority will be to listen to your story, understand your experiences, and delve into the life challenges you're encountering. This lays the groundwork for establishing a strong client-therapist bond, which is essential for our journey together.
Based on my diverse experiences, I've had the privilege of working with clients of all ages and addressing various concerns. My empathetic nature enables me to deeply understand individuals' needs, while my ability to establish trust and rapport fosters a supportive environment. Being a people person, I naturally connect with others, making the therapeutic process more effective and comfortable.
Bob Corral offers therapy covered by Managed Health Services (Managed Medicaid), Medicaid - Managed Health Services and UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Indiana.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been effective with my clients in improving emotional functioning and quality of life. I will be implementing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in my treatment to modify negative thinking patterns and behaviors. By addressing these cognitive distortions and maladaptive behaviors, clients can experience improvements in their daily lives.
In working with individuals from all age groups, who have struggled with sexual and physical abuse, abandonment, and family dysfunction, I have been trained to assist clients to process and cope with traumatic experiences. Treatment with combine elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with techniques tailored to address the effects of trauma.
In my therapeutic experience, the utilization of Solution-Focused therapy has taught clients to focus on the present and the future rather than dwelling on the past. I will assist you on identifying solutions to setting goals to address current issues.
In family treatment, I have utilized Structural Family Therapy to assist the family by addressing the underlying structure of interactions within the family. In treatment, I will focus on reorganizing relationships and communication patterns to promote healthier dynamics and resolve conflicts within the family system.
