LMHC, 8 years of experience
My purpose is to make sure my clients leave me knowing how to survive and enjoy life and master their mental illness. Whether it be the day-to-day stressors or loss of control of your mental illness, I want to give you your power back in a holistic matter. I am an individual and couples counselor. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, the Gottman method, mindfulness, and multi-systemic therapy. With understanding, empathy, and compassion, I can help improve your communication to strengthen your relationships in all areas of your life.
In our first session, I like to help the client become more comfortable with the therapy process. On top of explaining how therapy sessions will go, I try to help you become more comfortable talking about the issues that brought them to therapy. Then, I like to give some constructive homework to help you get started.
Having worked with individuals for 7 years, I have been able to help clients overcome the challenges they face daily. I assist them in achieving their goals through hard work and determination. I describe my approach as unconditional positive regard with a touch of soft bluntness. My homework is simple and focuses more on repetition and practice than on taking a lot of time out of your day. I incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and solution-focused strategies while also educating clients on how their minds work. I love empowering my clients and helping them reach their potential.
I love working with adolescents, couples, and women. I especially enjoy helping individuals who are trying to thrive despite chronic health conditions. I also enjoy assisting couples in improving communication and building deeper connections. Are you neurodivergent in your teens trying to manage those executive functioning skills? Or maybe you're in college and you are dealing with the stressors of being an adult for the first time on top of being neurodivergent? I'm also looking for you neurospicy folks in relationships whose executive functioning skills are messing around with your relationship, especially when it comes to communication, emotion regulation, etc.
I am a Gottman Level 1 and 2 counselor, per their training. I have been using this for several years with couples.
I believe in using the proper pronouns with my clients as well as making sure my space is a place where they feel safe to be their authentic self
Couples counseling is something near and dear to my heart. It's one of my favorite methods of counseling that I have done for my 8 years of experience as a counselor. I enjoy fostering communication with neurodivergent couples and couples with are dealing with a chronic health condition to help their relationship thrive.

She is very fair and able to see both sides and the truth. After just the first session i can see that she is honest and understanding about how much work and time the issues may truly take to resolve
