My name is Liana Gibson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 14 years of experience, licensed in CA, WA, and TX. I specialize in helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, strengthening bonds, and fostering healthier relationships. My approach centers on compassion, clear communication, and tailored strategies, integrating Christian faith, recovery principles, and cultural awareness to create a holistic and supportive environment for diverse individuals and families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I begin by understanding each client's unique needs through a comprehensive intake and accurate assessment. Together, we define what is needed from the therapeutic relationship and collaboratively set goals for therapy. I ensure regular check-ins to assess progress and adjust as needed, all while moving at a pace and level of comfort that feels right for you. During our first session, we’ll begin with a client intake, where I’ll learn about your background, concerns, and goals. We’ll also start an in-depth assessment, which may take more than one session, to understand your upbringing and family dynamics. This foundational work helps us build a clear picture of your experiences and needs, setting the stage for a personalized and meaningful therapeutic journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is gentle and direct. I am affirming, warm, and empowering.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My passion is to work with women on variety of different issues such as family conflict, self-esteem, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management, grief, just to name a few. I take a holistic approach, considering not only the individual but the entire family system. By using evidence-based techniques, I work to uncover underlying patterns that impact relationships and personal well-being, providing strategies designed for lasting change. My approach often includes family systems theory, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and elements of solution-focused therapy to support growth and resilience. I focus on supporting children, adolescents, families, and women, often those of Christian faith. I understand the importance of integrating faith and spirituality into the healing process, creating a compassionate space where faith and psychology intersect. I’m particularly comfortable working with personal challenges, relationship issues, and complex family dynamics, guiding clients through these areas with strategies rooted in Christian principles and a holistic therapeutic approach. My communication style is compassionate, caring, and understanding, creating a safe, judgment-free space where clients can openly express themselves. I am sensitive to the unique needs of each person and strive to make each session feel supportive and encouraging. Working with me feels like having a trusted ally who listens deeply, respects your perspective, and gently guides you toward growth and healing. My journey to becoming a therapist began 17 years ago when I experienced the transformative power of therapy firsthand. Inspired by the profound benefits I gained from my own therapist, I felt a calling to give back. With a leap of faith, I applied for a Master of Science program and was thrilled to be accepted into a respected university just a weekend before the deadline. Although I had a successful career in business, I found that my passion for making a difference led me to this more meaningful path in therapy.
