New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Erie, Pennsylvania offering in-person and telehealth appointments for adults. I have experience treating individuals with various needs including mental health, trauma, and problematic behaviors. I have worked with individuals experiencing a range of mental health and trauma symptoms and experiences including, but not limited to depression, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, grief, Borderline Personality Disorder, disordered eating, sexual behaviors, obsessions and compulsions, and substance use. Using a client-centered, strengths-based, humanistic approach, my therapeutic style incorporates a blend of approaches and techniques to help meet people where they are including mindfulness, CBT, and EMDR. I integrate skills from other modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), relapse prevention, and harm reduction. I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ and have been in the mental health field since 2017. I have worked with a variety of populations in various settings including inpatient mental health hospitalization, mental health partial hospitalization, dual diagnosis residential treatment, and forensic treatment with individuals post-incarceration. I have experience in individual and group therapy as well as case management and community resources.
Two of the most important aspects to me in helping others in therapy are a strong therapeutic relationship and working as a team in accomplishing your goals for therapy. You are the expert; I am the guide. Our first session is about getting to know one another to start building the foundation for learning, growth and healing.
I value compassion, understanding, and empathy. You don’t know what you don’t know until you know it. Once we learn and understand, the unknown becomes known and that awareness helps in navigating this journey. People often feel unseen, unheard, misunderstood, broken, damaged, or alone. All too often, society shames people when in reality, shame perpetuates what keeps us stuck. I value connectedness, curiosity, and compassion to expand awareness on a subconscious level so the parts of you that feel these hard things know that we can work through it together. You are seen, you are heard, and your story is valid.
Every client has the capacity to learn, heal, and grow, more than you may realize, and I am honored to be a part of that story, even if only for a glimpse in the course of one’s lifetime. You are the expert in your own life; only you know what it’s like to live life through your eyes - no one else. I am here to learn from you what it’s like to live life from your view, to connect and share my expertise - the information and knowledge I have gained in my training and clinical experience - so that you may take away what you find helpful in your journey of accessing your true, authentic self as you learn, heal, and grow.
