Finding your soul's purpose is not always easy. With all of the pressures of modern-day society, we can often get lost and are left feeling depleted. Are you searching for a feeling of wholeness and meaning in your life? Do you want to move past old reactive coping strategies and step into the fullness life has to offer? Do you find yourself obsessing on food, weight or body image and want to break free? If you find yourself at a crossroad and are ready to let go of what no longer serves you, I can help you take the first step. Combining evidence-based practices with creative interventions, I support clients in healing holistically. I specialize in working with adults who struggle with disordered eating, perfectionism, self-criticism, trauma, depression and anxiety. Primarily, I work with women who want to deeply heal. My passion is helping clients discover their values and utilize them to create more joy and satisfaction in their lives. Together, we can work to improve your self-esteem, outlook on life, and process any challenges. Therapy is a brave and bold decision to make for yourself, and I am grateful that you have arrived at my page. I approach clients with gentleness, humanness, authenticity and understanding. With a spirit of warmth at the forefront of my work, I will encourage you towards making the changes your soul knows you need to make. Our work is collaborative always.
In our first session together, we will work to identify what your goals might be for our journey together. I like to ask lots of questions to get to know you and better understand what is bringing you to therapy. I always open to questions about my practice and the techniques I utilize. My hope is that you leave our first session with a good idea of the work we will be doing together moving forward. Many of clients find that it feels good to share their feelings authentically with someone who is really there to listen. You might be surprised to feel relief even after the first session.
Combining evidence-based practices with creative interventions, I support clients in healing holistically. I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT incorporates skills in the areas of mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. In addition to DBT, I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help you reframe and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. I like to bring in ACT Values work to help you better identify and live your values. As a creative arts therapist, I enjoy using art, journaling and movement. I sometimes give creative homework to help you deepen your healing outside of sessions. I help clients identify their healthy self/soul self to help guide them towards living their best lives. In addition, I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is an evidenced based treatment that utilizes eye-movement desensitization to reduce uncomfortable imagery, sensations and symptoms. This form of therapy is particularly effective for survivors of trauma but can also be utilized to alleviate depression, anxiety, OCD and various other stressors.
I find my passion in helping others connect with their soul and deepen their recovery through the process. Healing the wounded parts that keep us from living an abundant life takes work, and I am here to support you on that journey. My desire to become a therapist was born out of my own journey. I grew up in the professional dance world and suffered an injury in 2005. This forced me to re-direct my path. After beginning my own recovery that year, I became inspired to help others do the same. It is now a gift for me to give back and help others to heal from disorders that keep them from thriving. I speak from experience when I say that recovery is possible, and the work is worth it. You are worth it. Please note, I only work with adults.
