LMFT, 5 years of experience
Michelle Tapia, LMFT, LPCC Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist & Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Founder of Mind Bloom – Virtual Therapy in California Welcome! I’m Michelle Tapia, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), providing virtual therapy to clients throughout California. I’m the founder of Mind Bloom, a space dedicated to fostering growth, healing, and meaningful connection through evidence-based and compassionate care. My therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from multiple approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. While I often use Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundation, I frequently integrate principles from Attachment Theory to support deeper emotional awareness and relational healing. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a collaborative and safe space. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to help guide that journey. Currently, all sessions are offered virtually to make therapy more accessible and flexible for your lifestyle.
In the first session, clients can expect to engage in rapport building, establish a therapeutic relationship, collaborate on developing a treatment plan, and discuss their expectations for therapy.
Some of my greatest strengths include rapport building, meeting clients exactly where they are, and using humor to foster trust and connection.
I work with individuals (both men and women) over 18 years old, couples experiencing challenges such as communication issues, infidelity, and broken trust, as well as family systems dealing with grief and loss, adjustment difficulties and attachment injuries.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in understanding how clients' attachment styles manifest in their daily lives.
I offer psychoeducation on the cognitive model to assist clients in recognizing and transforming maladaptive thought patterns related to their challenges.
I apply this approach with couples to deescalate conflicts during sessions and facilitate the communication of primary emotions.
I have extensive experience working with couples, helping them strengthen their relationships, navigate healthy breakups, and establish effective co-parenting dynamics.
I have experience working with families of various sizes, focusing on helping them recognize how they function as a system, where each individual influences the whole.
