LCSW, 7 years of experience
New to Grow
Welcome - my name is Rebecca! I'm a LCSW who is offering therapy services to clients in California and Georgia. As a therapist of color and daughter of immigrants, I'm dedicated to creating a safe, affirming space for women of color who want to better understand themselves, explore how they show up in the world, and develop tools to navigate life’s everyday challenges. I have experience supporting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences. I believe that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy, and I’m committed to providing client-centered, collaborative care that meets you exactly where you are. My goal is to create a compassionate space where you can explore your experiences, build insight, and move toward meaningful growth and healing.
My goal is to help you feel comfortable, grounded, and understood. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brought you to therapy, and exploring what you’d like to get out of our work together. I’ll ask questions about your background, current concerns, and any symptoms or patterns you’ve been noticing. This session is collaborative, and you’re always in control of the pace. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right. We’ll also talk about what therapy might look like moving forward, including approaches I may use, what feels most helpful to you, and how we can create a space that feels safe and supportive.
My aim is not just symptom relief, but helping you develop insight, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself, results that continue long after therapy ends. If you’re seeking a therapist who meets you where you are and supports you in moving toward where you want to be, you’ll find that reflected in my approach.
I specialize in supporting women in areas such as managing stress, anxiety, and depression; overcoming imposter syndrome; coping with immigration-related stress; navigating cultural and familial expectations; processing grief and loss; building self-esteem and personal growth; and handling complex workplace dynamics.
I use CBT to help clients identify and understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I collaborate with clients to explore unhelpful thought patterns and core beliefs that may be contributing to emotional distress or problematic behaviors. I then guide clients in developing more balanced, realistic, and compassionate ways of thinking.
I have formal training in EMDR and use it as a therapeutic approach for clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, negative self-beliefs, and other distressing life experiences. My experience includes providing EMDR to individuals with single-incident trauma, chronic or complex trauma, and clients who present with longstanding patterns of emotional reactivity or avoidance connected to earlier life events
I have training and experience in DBT and integrate DBT principles and skills into my work with clients who struggle with emotion dysregulation, interpersonal difficulties, impulsive behaviors, and chronic patterns of distress. My experience includes using DBT-informed approaches with individuals experiencing mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, and challenges with maintaining healthy boundaries and relationships.
I have extensive experience integrating mindfulness-based approaches into my clinical work and use mindfulness as both a standalone intervention and a complementary component within other treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR. In my practice, I use mindfulness therapy to help clients develop a more compassionate and nonjudgmental relationship with their internal experiences. This often involves guiding clients through practices such as breathwork, body scans, grounding exercises, and mindful observation of thoughts and emotions.
