Hi there, I'm Lesley! I'm a bi-lingual Latina therapist, with a passion for empowering individuals in getting the best mental health support in order to function to their fullest. When I am not practicing therapy, I am practicing Yoga as a certified yoga instructor or going on hikes. We'll use evidenced based practices, such as TF-CBT, CBT and DBT, along with a holistic and strengths-based approach to get you back to where you want to be. I know it is hard opening up to a stranger, so we can go at your own pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we will go through brief introductions and then dive into getting to know you a little better. You are free to open up as much or as little as possible. The main question being "What brings you to therapy today?"

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I started my career working in residential treatment centers and have found that my time in those settings really helped shape me as a clinician. I feel very strongly in my abilities to form a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. I specialize in trauma and emotional regulation work, whether it's using TF-CBT, DBT or pulling from a variety of different modalities to meet each individual's unique needs.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My experience working with various individuals from different backgrounds has taught me that we are all human beings, trying our best. I feel that I am best positioned to help anyone who needs someone to process through their past traumas or current stressors and who feel that they want to start taking action in changing their behaviors or better managing them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT since the start of my career in an effort to help clients better understand how their behaviors connect to their thoughts and emotions. This can help clients better manage and cope with any symptoms they may be experiencing. I have used Trauma-Focused CBT in residential treatment centers for clients experiencing severe PTSD, but have also used components of TF-CBT with clients experiencing complex traumas and other life stressors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My experience with DBT ranges from psychiatric hospitals, residential settings and outpatient settings helping individuals learn a variety of skills that can help them better manage their lives.

Positive Psychology

When appropriate, I have used positive psychology to help shift a client's perspective from focusing on problematic behaviors to strengths.

Mind-body approach

As a certified yoga teacher, I take components from yoga and other mind-body exercises to help clients better understand the connection between mental health/well-being and our bodies as a whole.
