I’m a bilingual Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a deep-rooted passion for supporting individuals across the lifespan in their mental health journey. My clinical foundation began as a Registered Nurse in inpatient psychiatric units, addiction detox programs, and federal correctional facilities—experiences that shaped my empathetic, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed approach to care. Now, as a PMHNP, I provide comprehensive psychiatric services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults facing a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more. I believe in tailoring care to the unique needs of each individual, blending evidence-based treatment with compassion, active listening, and cultural sensitivity. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I strive to create a therapeutic space where patients feel safe, heard, and empowered. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis or seeking support for a long-standing condition, I’m here to walk with you—every step of the way.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first visit is focused on understanding your unique needs in a safe, welcoming environment. During this initial appointment, you will meet with a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who will conduct a comprehensive evaluation, including a review of your medical history, current symptoms, and mental health goals. This visit is an important step in creating a personalized treatment plan, which may include therapy, medication management, or other supportive services. We encourage you to bring any relevant medical records and a list of current medications. Our goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and informed as we begin your journey toward healing and mental wellness together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to actively listen with empathy and without judgment, ensuring that each patient feels truly heard and understood. I prioritize collaborative care by involving patients in every step of their treatment planning, empowering them to take an active role in their mental health journey. While I am trained to prescribe psychiatric medications when appropriate, I also recognize that medication is not always the preferred or only path to healing. I take a holistic approach by exploring alternative and complementary treatment options including therapy, lifestyle modifications, stress management strategies, and community referrals to support each individual's unique needs and goals. This flexible, patient-centered approach allows me to provide personalized care that respects each person’s values, preferences, and overall wellness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients across the lifespan—from children to older adults—who are seeking compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. With extensive experience in inpatient psychiatry, addiction detox, and correctional settings, as well as outpatient care, our practice is uniquely equipped to support individuals facing a wide range of psychiatric concerns. These include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and co-occurring substance use disorders. We understand that each person’s mental health journey is unique, and we take a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to assessment and treatment planning. As a bilingual Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I am particularly attuned to the needs of both English- and Spanish-speaking populations, and I strive to ensure clear communication and culturally responsive care. Whether you're a parent seeking evaluation for your child, an adult navigating life transitions, or a senior facing new emotional challenges, we aim to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Our goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and clinical expertise as you work toward lasting healing and emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Compassion Focused

Using a compassion-focused approach during a psychiatric visit can be incredibly helpful in building trust, reducing shame, and promoting emotional safety for patients. Many individuals seeking mental health care struggle with self-criticism, trauma, or feelings of worthlessness, which can create barriers to engagement and healing. By incorporating compassion—through tone of voice, empathetic listening, and nonjudgmental communication—I can help patients feel seen, respected, and supported. This approach encourages patients to explore difficult emotions without fear of judgment, which is essential in psychiatric care. Additionally, compassion-focused techniques can activate the soothing system of the brain, which helps regulate anxiety and stress, creating a more effective therapeutic environment. As a provider, this approach not only enhances rapport but also aligns with trauma-informed and patient-centered care principles, making each interaction more meaningful and therapeutic.
