New to Grow
Hello beautiful soul! I am a licensed mental health counselor who received my education and training from Columbia University in New York City. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, social-justice informed, insight oriented, collaborative, and guided by foundational principles in Eastern Buddhist philosophy and spirituality. I specialize in the following areas of healing: Exploring one’s identity and understanding how marginalized and/or privileged aspects of one’s identity informs one’s lived experience and self-concept. Helping clients of marginalized identities feel EMPOWERED with self-love and acceptance in who they are authentically. Exploration of childhood trauma and using a deeply supportive and nurturing therapeutic bond to create emotionally reparative experiences. Providing evidence-supported and catered insight into how one’s trauma lead to the psychological development of maladaptive beliefs, behaviors, and triggers. Using mindfulness practices such as meditation and wisdom from Eastern Buddhist philosophy and spirituality to guide one’s awareness towards greater self-love, compassion, and enlightenment.
I provide a safe, intimate, and nurturing space to help you unlock the repressed traumatic emotions and memories and facilitate emotionally reparative moments to help you heal and release your wounds. Working with me may feel like confiding your deepest pains to an empathetic friend who is nurturing, insightful, emotionally attuned, and ready to guide you towards living an authentic and liberated life. My ultimate goal is to heal and disempower your traumas so you can identify the highest aspects of your soul and live a life of meaning and purpose.
I identify as an empath. This simply means that I not only feel my own emotions very deeply and strongly throughout my entire body, but I can sense, feel, and experience the present emotions, mood states, past emotional experiences, traumas, and inner potential of other people. For example, if I walk into a room of people, I can quickly detect who is anxious, who is sad, who is feeling content, or who is feeling lonely without anybody communicating their emotions to me verbally. This ability has provided me the gift of easily relating to other people’s experiences and providing them with empathy and compassion.
My ideal client is not cookie-cutter. Instead, they are someone who knows what it feels like to be marginalized, outcasted, or misunderstood simply for "not fitting into boxes." My ideal client is someone who has been criticized and shamed for expressing the most beautiful and authentic aspects of themselves to an unaccepting world. My ideal client is ready for insight and healing. My ideal client is excited to gain the self-awareness and wisdom to step into greater self-worth, self-love, and authenticity. My ideal client is ready to feel liberated.
I facilitated exploration of your childhood and past experiences, helping you understand how past experiences of trauma led to development of unhealthy coping mechanisms and emotional repression.
I build a strong rapport with you, so that you feel safe and seen enough to be vulnerable and reveal hidden aspects of your authentic self.
I help you identify your internalized maladaptive core beliefs contributing to irrational thoughts, emotional dysregulation, and self-destructive behaviors.
I provide a nurturing, safe, and grounded space to hold all of your emotions, no matter how heavy or intense.
I ensure that your intersectional identities are incorporated into our exploration of your lived experience.
