Hello! I’m Kim. I graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a masters degree in social work. Over the past 15 years, I have been honored to work in various capacities within the mental health field, helping individuals navigate through life's complexities and challenges, specifically with anxiety, depression and relationship complications. Let’s see how we can work together on your life journey!
You can expect our first session to be about getting to know one another and exploring your life challenges while also taking a look at the strengths you have to navigate these challenges. This will help to develop a plan to work through alongside one another.
I feel I can connect with others either through professional experience or through individual personal growth. I have a great sense of understanding and empathy needed to meet individuals where they’re at while also challenging and empowering others to succeed and move forward on their journey.
I love working with young professionals or students who are trying to navigate through life in order to create the best journey for themselves. Sometimes it’s difficult to identify the tools needed to get to where you want to be and often times will struggle with anxious thoughts, feeling overwhelmed and struggle with decision making.
I utilize CBT to challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors and show how thoughts, behaviors and feelings are connected to one another.
I’m EMDR trained and utilize this method to reduce the effects of trauma and the emotional beliefs associated with it.
I use motivational interviewing to connect with my clients and encourage individuation.
I utilize psycho education in my practice to teach coping skills and about the value of social support and knowledge of their condition.
I utilize solution focused brief therapy to support individuals in identifying solutions and problem solving effectively by identifying resources and utilizing strengths.
