New to Grow
My journey as a counselor began working with the Veterans Hospital in an outpatient clinic working with veterans with Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, survivors of sexual assault and educating the family. I also have experience working with those who have experienced Intimate Partner Violence, Post Partum-Depression and family members who are caregivers. I am a mother, a caregiver and grandmother who plays an active role in grandkid’s life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
The first session I spend time getting to know the individual and making the person feel more comfortable. The next step is to complete an intake/assessment. We will then talk about client’s needs and expectations.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am an empathetic person and a great listener with the ability to help the individual feel more at ease talking about their challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate mindfulness, reframing and other tools into therapy process. These skills will help the individual with the skills to manage life events.
Supportive
In treatment the focus is supporting the individual where the person is and know they are not alone in this journey.
