I look forward to meeting you. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 9 years experience. I obtained a Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University and have gained experience working with the military and veteran communities in several states including Florida, California and Virginia. I was trained in cognitive behavioral therapy to treat symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, low self worth, past trauma and PTSD. I encourage clients to practice skills learned in between appointments to develop confidence in using new coping and communication skills with others and how they perceive themselves. I value honest direct discussions in the therapeutic relationship and look forward to working with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together I will gain an understanding about your development and life experiences that have shaped you into the person you are today. We will discuss strengths, symptoms of concerns and opportunities for intervention to determine our next steps. You will leave our first appointment with an intention and plan for your second step in therapy. The first step is the hardest part- deciding you want something different and scheduling an appointment to get started.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, my biggest strength is fostering independence in navigating stressors and improving self-worth for clients. I am direct and honest with each client about the interventions and what their experience will be like in this process. I am confident in guiding clients to challenge themselves to take the next step in improving their lives. I understand that not everyone starts at "change" mode and needs time to contemplate and evaluate the options of what route they want the next months to look like for themselves. Therapy is a process and I navigate the gas and break pedals well with clients understanding when stress can be added with new behaviors or challenging perspectives and when it needs to be paused to take time to recover and relax to prepare for the next step.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am seeking out clients that are ready to take this first step together challenging unhealthy coping habits and work towards a healthy and happier lifestyle. I utilize a variety of learning styles to help clients apply skills learned to present life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing CBT modalities for 8+years effectively treating depression, anxiety and life stressors. This approach helps client gain skills and confidence to cope with past and present stressors independently. I customize these interventions for each person to achieve treatment goals. This type of therapy has been most effective in reducing anxiety and depressive symptoms as well as boosting self worth and experiencing the positive feelings of achievement or contentment. Clients recognize changes in their day to day lifestyle and perspective.
