I am honored to work beside persons seeking support with their personal growth and in creating hope-filled futures. I have been providing individual therapy services for over 30 years and working as a licensed psychologist since 2013. I specialize in treating substance use disorders and a range of emotional dysregulation concerns often associated with addictions, including anger management, impulsivity, anxiety, depression, and grief/loss.
I believe therapy is a mutually rewarding experience. By creating a welcoming and accepting place in which clients can safely explore their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, I too learn and grow into a better personal and professional version of myself. I am hopeful that you will leave your first session with a renewed sense of hope and curiosity for what your future holds and a willingness to do the necessary work to achieve your established goals. The first session will focus on establishing our therapeutic relationship, including building rapport and trust with each other and going over expectations we both may have moving forward. It's casual and comfortable - no pressure!
While I do utilize evidenced-based treatments to address your needs, I believe that each meeting we have is an improv session! We can change direction and focus depending on what is most pressing at the time. I believe my greatest strength lies in meeting you wherever you are mentally and emotionally at any moment during our sessions and creating an environment where you feel safe to discuss your concerns.
I believe all therapy is a collaboration between the therapist and person seeking support, both of us bringing valuable resources to the conversation and working together to solve problems. I acknowledge the courage it takes to seek assistance with your mental health concerns. My therapeutic style promotes individualized, person-centered care, and I respect that you are the expert of your own life. I recognize the need for us to work together to design a plan of action to achieve your desired goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I am trained in CBT interventions which we will use together to focus on changing negative thoughts and behaviors to improve your overall mental health.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
As a certified DBT professional, I will guide you in developing skills to manage intense emotions, improve your interpersonal relationships, and reduce any self-destructive behaviors of which you may be concerned (i.e., self harm, substance use/addiction). DBT is a more structured therapy, often delivered through group and individual sessions, that combines therapy CBT principles with mindfulness and acceptance-based strategies which you will learn as you progress through therapy.
Faith based therapy
Together we can incorporate the tenants of your faith (if applicable) within our therapy sessions, merging your faith-based values with evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Psychoeducation
This evidence-based intervention will provide you with information and support related to mental health conditions as we find this need in the course of our sessions.
