LMHC, 25 years of experience
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, where I’ve been practicing since 2011. I also hold a Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA), earned in 2015. Over the past 14 years, I’ve worked with diverse populations across Miami and beyond, including international clinical experience that informs my multicultural and inclusive approach to care. My academic background is in Clinical Psychology, with a strong foundation in child and adolescent mental health. While much of my clinical research and practice has focused on younger populations, I also support young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, body image concerns, acculturation, and other sensitive areas. I bring cultural sensitivity and openness to every therapeutic relationship, shaped by my own lived experiences and years of working with immigrant and minority communities in multicultural urban settings. In addition, I specialize in treating complex behavioral challenges in children and adolescents—including ADHD, ODD, and ASD—drawing on my extensive experience in Applied Behavior Analysis. I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs, helping them overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
In our initial session, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, open space where you can freely share your thoughts, emotions, and current challenges. Together, we’ll begin exploring treatment goals, priorities, and potential pathways forward. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what our work together will look like—and you’ll begin receiving practical coping tools and resources from day one.
I bring an empathic, humanistic approach to therapy, grounded in evidence-based techniques that promote meaningful behavioral change. My goal is to help clients experience progress that is both effective and timely. I focus on building practical skills to support emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility, and behavioral self-management. Clients often describe me as approachable, warm, and deeply attuned to their individual needs.
Children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, executive functioning challenges, and other psychological concerns. I work especially well with individuals who are motivated to explore lifestyle changes and strengthen emotional regulation skills as part of their healing and growth process.
A very effective therapeutic approach -based on mindfulness- to manage negative emotions including sadness, anger, guilt, shame and others, as well as emotional crisis and interpersonal conflict.
CBT is used in my practice to help clients to explore cognitive distortions associated to maladaptive behaviors and negative emotions. A very effective approach to treat anxiety, depression, anger, self-image and other problems in children, adolescents and adults.

A friend of mine recommended Madiane Perez and I have been seeing her for over a year now. Madiane continues to guide and teach me ways to understand and work through my personal and family issues. I look forward to our weekly sessions.

What stands out about Madiane Perez’s therapy style is that she let me talk freely without feeling rushed or judged. She really listened, which made it easier for me to open up. I felt lighter and more at ease after our conversation, like a weight had been lifted. Her calm and supportive approach made a big difference for me.
