New to Grow
Hi, I’m Darlenys, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a mom myself, so I understand firsthand how overwhelming life’s transitions can feel. I work with adults who are juggling big responsibilities, navigating anxiety or depression, or adjusting to major life changes like parenthood. My goal is to create a space where you can exhale, feel seen, and start to reconnect with your own strength.
In our first session, you can expect a conversation that feels like a mix of curiosity and care. I’ll ask about what’s been weighing on you, your hopes for therapy, and what support looks like for you. I want you to feel comfortable sharing at your own pace, so nothing is rushed. By the end, we’ll have a clear plan and a sense of what it’s like to work together, so you leave feeling a bit lighter and less alone.
I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise into our sessions. I specialize in perinatal mental health, parenting challenges, and supporting Latinx families, while also helping adults manage anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Clients often tell me they feel safe opening up with me because I’m warm, straightforward, and genuinely invested in their growth. I balance evidence based strategies with a down to earth, authentic approach that helps you not only understand what’s going on but also feel empowered to take the next step forward.
I love working with people who give so much to everyone else but are realizing it’s time to take care of themselves too. Many of my clients are new or expecting parents navigating the ups and downs of postpartum, Latinx adults balancing cultural expectations with their own needs, or individuals struggling with anxiety and self-doubt. If you’ve been trying to hold it all together but are ready for support that feels practical, empathetic, and real, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
I like to use CBT in a very practical way, helping clients notice patterns in their thoughts and how those thoughts impact feelings and behaviors. We work together to challenge unhelpful beliefs, build healthier ways of thinking, and practice tools you can actually use day to day.
Because many of my clients have experienced trauma, I focus on creating a space that feels safe and non-judgmental. I move at your pace, never rushing, while helping you build trust in yourself again and explore healing in ways that don’t feel overwhelming.
Your background, values, and identity matter in therapy. I take the time to understand your unique experiences and make sure the approaches we use respect and reflect your culture and who you are, so therapy feels authentic and supportive for you.
I believe you already carry so many strengths, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. In therapy, I help you notice and build on those inner resources, like resilience, creativity, or problem-solving, that you’ve used to get through challenges before. Together, we focus on what’s working and how to lean into your strengths to move forward with confidence.
I often use psychoeducation because I find that understanding what’s happening, whether it’s anxiety, stress, or trauma responses, can take away some of the fear and confusion. I share information and practical tools in a clear, down-to-earth way, so you feel more equipped to manage your experiences and know you’re not alone in what you’re going through.
