LCSW, 10 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi, I’m Christina Bame, LCSW and Registered Yoga Teacher. As a queer, biracial, gender fluid, and neurodivergent therapist, I bring both personal and professional understanding to my work. I offer a trauma-informed, holistic approach that integrates the mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. My practice combines evidence-based methods like ACT and somatic therapy with creative modalities such as mindfulness, art, and movement. I am passionate about supporting clients navigating trauma, psychosis, and identity-based stressors—including racial, gender, and LGBTQ+ experiences—helping them find safety, empowerment, and reconnection to their authentic selves.
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, grounded, and collaborative space focused on getting to know them and their goals for therapy. We’ll move at a comfortable pace, discussing what brings them to therapy, what has or hasn’t worked in the past, and what safety and support look like for them. I’ll also share more about my trauma-informed and mind-body approach, answer any questions, and ensure that we co-create a plan that feels aligned, gentle, and empowering from the very beginning.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the integration of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. I blend evidence-based practices like ACT and somatic therapy with creative and holistic methods such as mindfulness, art, music, and movement. Rooted in social justice, my work acknowledges the impact of systemic oppression on mental health and centers empowerment, resilience, and collective healing. I strive to create a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive space where clients feel safe to explore, heal, and reconnect with their authentic selves.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are open to beginning the process of trauma healing, reconnecting with their bodies, and exploring the deeper layers of their emotional and spiritual well-being. I work with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, racial trauma, gender-based trauma (including LGBTQ+ clients), and those navigating experiences such as psychosis or altered states. I support individuals seeking safety, grounding, and reconnection to self, especially those who value a holistic, compassionate, and collaborative approach—curious about the mind-body connection and committed to creating meaningful, lasting change from the inside out.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility and live in alignment with their values. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, and committed action, clients learn to make space for difficult emotions while still moving toward meaningful goals. I guide clients in finding empowerment and purpose even in the face of pain.
I support clients in strengthening the mind-body connection so they can better understand how thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations interact. Through techniques like grounding, mindful awareness, and movement, clients learn to tune into their bodies and respond with greater clarity and resilience. This integration empowers healing from within and fosters lasting emotional balance.
I use somatic therapy to help clients reconnect with their bodies as a source of safety, wisdom, and healing. By incorporating mindful movement, breathwork, and body awareness, I guide clients in releasing stored tension and emotions linked to trauma. This process supports deeper self-regulation, grounding, and emotional integration.
I take a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment in every session. With over ten years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, I understand the importance of creating a space that feels secure and validating. By recognizing how trauma impacts both the mind and body, I help clients gently process their experiences at a pace that feels right for them, fostering healing, resilience, and renewed self-trust.
I provide culturally sensitive therapy that honors each client’s unique background, identity, and lived experience. Informed by my own lived experience, I approach healing with humility, curiosity, and respect, recognizing how culture, race, gender, and community shape one’s story. My goal is to create an inclusive space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported in their full humanity.
