New to Grow
Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-Certified Art Therapist, and Certified Yoga Teacher. I have 7 years of experience supporting adults and parents navigating ADHD/ autism and developmental disabilities. I also support those struggling with anxiety, OCD, chronic illness, and trauma that often accumulates from the experience of living with these unique challenges. I’m neurodiversity affirming and chronic illness informed. I value creating a safe and inclusive space to help you feel seen, supported, and understood. Your lived experience is a sacred part of your journey and I firmly believe the answers you're looking for are within you. I'd be honored to sit with you in the uncertainty while we figure it out together.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is about getting to know eachother, primarily focusing on your story and goals for therapy. There is no pressure to discuss anything you are not ready to talk about. My objective is to get a better understanding of your experience as you live it and explore your preferences for therapy.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My work is grounded in the belief that healing begins when we feel safe enough to be ourselves — and from there, we can begin the journey of coming home to who we truly are. I integrate creative, somatic, and trauma-informed practices in the therapeutic process. I use art therapy directives to support self-exploration, inference-based CBT to address self-doubt and anxiety loops, and mindfulness practices to drop into the body and step out of overthinking. I have lived experience navigating ADHD and chronic illness, which helps me find deep compassion for those on a similar journey. I am an eclectic artist, dabbling in a variety of mediums that invoke a sense of connection to all that is. If you enjoy writing, poetry, drawing, painting, mandala work or mindfulness activities that get you back in your body, this space is for you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy supporting adults navigating ADHD/ autism, anxiety, and/or chronic illness. If you're finding it difficult to manage responsibilities with your unique differences or if you find yourself getting stuck in 'what if' scenarios, anxiety loops, self-doubt, or ruminating on past experiences, you are not alone. Excessive worry or overwhelm doesn't mean you are broken, its an indication that your nervous system is seeking safety. Let's support your body in feeling safe again. The goal is not to 'fix' you, but to walk along side you in rediscovering who you are below everything that has been weighing you down.
Mind-body approach
I use a mind-body approach to help you connect to yourself and explore underlying emotions that may be keeping you stuck. This may look like guide visual meditations, mindfulness, or vagus nerve exercises to support nervous system regulation.
Trauma Informed Care
I offer a trauma informed perspective to support a safe space for you to process your experience.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I fully believe you have the answers to solve whatever life throws at you. I'm just here to help you find it and remind you to stay compassionate toward yourself in the process.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use inference-based CBT to help soften anxiety loops and 'what if' thinking. This approach is often supportive for those struggling with OCD and anxiety.
Eclectic
My priority is finding an approach that supports you fully. I use art therapy, somatic practices, and nervous system regulation exercises based on your needs. Art therapy directives may include mindfulness art making, sensory exploration, or symbolic drawing. Its not about what the art looks like, it's about how it makes you feel.
