LMFT, 4 years of experience
New to Grow
Being raised in an urban environment, I saw firsthand how there were often cracks in the systems that are designed to help people struggling with their mental health. I wanted to make sure that people had access to quality mental health care, which led to me starting my career by working with individuals and families who had experienced trauma. I am also passionate about working with individuals who are neurodiverse, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and "geek" communities.
Our first session is about getting to know you. We will talk about your goals, your aspirations, and what you hope to get out of therapy, as well as the things that bring you joy. I want to learn what matters most to you and what support looks like in your life. We will also talk about what future sessions may look like and how we can work together in a way that feels comfortable and authentic to you.
I think one of my biggest strength is that I am collaborative. I may be an expert when it comes to therapy, but I am not an expert in you. I want to hear what you think feels helpful and also when things don't feel helpful. Part of the therapeutic journey is about making connections and being provided with the support you need to be autonomous and happy.
I firmly believe that you shouldn’t feel judged for your interests, lifestyle, or identity; rather, you should have the opportunity to embrace them as integral components of your life. In our work together, we will collaborate and I will meet you where you are at so that you can leverage your strengths, interests, and natural support systems to change your life for the better. I use a wide variety of techniques rooted in attachment; including the use of mindfulness, art, pop culture, and IFS to help you create understanding and growth and to resolve past traumas, overcome anxiety, improve your self-esteem, and conquer life transitions. I strive to create a collaborative environment that is safe, confidential, and open-minded for those embarking on their therapeutic journey.
I integrate IFS concepts in a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming way to help clients explore their inner parts, reduce shame, and strengthen self-leadership.
I take a trauma-informed approach grounded in my training in TF-CBT and EMDR, while integrating IFS-informed principles.
I integrate EFIT principles to help clients explore and transform emotional patterns rooted in attachment and lived experience, fostering greater security, resilience, and self-understanding.
My practice is eclectic, combining strategies from various approaches to create individualized, effective, and affirming support for every client.
