LCSW, 10 years of experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, birth doula, yoga teacher, and professor with a passion for walking alongside people through life’s most complex seasons. My work is rooted in compassion, evidence-based practice, and a belief that healing involves the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. In my practice, I specialize in reproductive and perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, and supporting individuals and couples navigating infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, loss, and life transitions. I also work with clients facing chronic illness and the lingering impact of stress and anxiety. My integrative approach may include traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, yoga-based techniques, and psychoeducation, tailored to fit your unique needs and goals. Clients often describe me as calm, supportive, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place where you don’t have to “have it all together.” Instead, you’ll find space to process honestly, learn effective tools, and build resilience. Whether you are seeking short-term support or long-term healing, we’ll work together at your pace to create meaningful change. Beyond the therapy room, I teach and mentor future social workers, which keeps me grounded in both current research and real-world practice. My experience as a doula and yoga teacher allows me to bring a holistic, nurturing lens to therapy that honors your strengths while addressing challenges. Above all, I want you to know: you don’t have to walk this path alone. Healing is possible, and I would be honored to support you in finding your way forward.
Your first session with me is about creating a safe, welcoming space where you can exhale and know you don’t have to carry everything alone. We’ll start by talking about what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain. I’ll ask questions to get to know your story, your strengths, and your current challenges. This isn’t about rushing to “fix” things but about understanding the whole picture of who you are and what you’ve been carrying. We’ll also talk about your goals for therapy. Some clients want short-term, solution-focused support, while others are looking for deeper, long-term healing. I’ll share my approach, which often weaves together talk therapy, mindfulness, and sometimes gentle mind-body practices like breathwork or grounding techniques. Together, we’ll decide what feels right for you. Most importantly, I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a sense of hope that therapy can help. My goal is to build a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable showing up just as you are.
I bring a blend of professional expertise, compassion, and real-world experience to therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, professor, birth doula, and yoga teacher, I understand that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. My greatest strength is integrating multiple perspectives—clinical, holistic, and practical—to meet people where they are. I’m skilled in supporting individuals and couples navigating reproductive challenges (infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or loss), as well as those living with trauma, anxiety, or chronic illness. I bring calm, steady presence in moments of crisis, and I also know how to help clients uncover their own resilience and strengths. Another strength is my ability to hold both the science and the humanity of therapy. I stay current on evidence-based practices, but I also listen deeply to the person in front of me. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to create a nonjudgmental space where they feel both safe and empowered to grow. Above all, I value authenticity. I show up as a real person who believes in the healing power of connection, honesty, and hope.
My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who are navigating seasons of change, stress, or transition—especially in the areas of reproductive and perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, and chronic illness. I love working with people who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain, but who are open to exploring new ways of coping and healing. This could be a couple struggling with infertility, a new parent adjusting to postpartum life, someone grieving a pregnancy or infant loss, or a person learning how to manage the emotional toll of chronic illness. My ideal clients don’t have to come to therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on—they just need a willingness to show up and be open to the process. Some are looking for tools to manage anxiety or relationship stress; others are seeking deeper healing from past experiences. I particularly enjoy supporting those who are curious about integrating mind-body practices, faith, or spirituality into their healing journey, but that is always guided by the client’s preference. At the core, my ideal clients are those who value a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space where they can feel understood and supported as they take steps toward growth and resilience.

NaKita is very welcoming. Her office is very comfortable and inviting. My wife and I are 2 sessions in and we are certain that she is helping our relationship. More importantly she is very smart and very well spoken and leads us to open our minds to one another with God.
