Hi. I am a licensed psychotherapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience. I provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults. I have a background in working with children and families, which has deepened my understanding of how relationships shape our experiences. In our first session together, we'll introduce ourselves and discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll gather information to understand your background, current concerns, and goals. Together, we’ll create a plan to guide our work moving forward. This is also a space for you to ask any questions and share what feels important to you. My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative environment as we begin this journey.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider lie in my deep commitment to empathy, compassion, and genuine connection. From an early age, I was struck by the power of these qualities to foster healing and strengthen relationships. I value self-inquiry, humility, and reflection as essential tools for understanding oneself and navigating relationships. My approach is both supportive and empowering, helping you cultivate self-awareness and growth to become the best version of yourself.

I just started therapy with Joleen but so far I love how she offers practical ways right away to manage my symptoms. She is open and attentive which I genuinely appreciate! I’m looking forward to having more sessions with her.

Through self-reflection and self-awareness, you’ll develop the tools to break unhelpful cycles, improve your relationships, and create lasting, meaningful change in your life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate mindfulness-based practices to help you develop effective self-regulation skills. These practices support you in staying present, cultivating a non-judgmental mindset, embracing self-acceptance, and fostering greater self-compassion.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we will identify and reframe unhelpful thinking patterns, empowering you to make positive changes. I will also support you in developing personalized coping strategies to navigate challenges and meet your needs with confidence.
