I work with the client's envisioned goals in mind first and foremost. I want to be able to build upon someone's strengths and eliminate feelings of inferiority. I like to help people work towards the best version of themselves and to gain independence by pushing past their limitations. If you find that you don't have the confidence to approach life and accomplish your goals then let's have a conversation and make this possible for you again. I truly believe everyone is capable of pushing past their limitations if given the insight and willingness to step out of their comfort zones. *** I'm currently running a special offer for any gamers out there. I will provide the first session free if you beat me in a best-of-3 set in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Feel free to send me a message or contact me at the phone number listed on my profile for details.
I take working at a client's pace very seriously. I will not force conversation that is too far out of a client's comfort zone, however, I will always be honest and will challenge thinking when necessary. I am fairly informal and place great value on forming a human connection first and foremost before anything else.
I am happy to be able to engage with anyone seeking services and looking for change. I like to keep things as comfortable as possible for everyone so treatment will be paced at whatever pace you feel is best for yourself. I value honesty both from myself and my clients as I do believe honesty and accountability are some of the major building blocks for improvement. My biggest strengths include working with men who are struggling with their confidence and self-worth as well as couples.
CBT is the backbone of many modern treatments. I do believe the majority of our mental health issues, if not due purely to physiological reasons, are due to our inability to filter through maladaptive thinking that has been reinforced over the course of many years.
Although this is not my primary focus as I strongly believe that each person's issues are individual to themselves, I am very open to structuring treatment based on Christian values and morals. I am a Christian myself and am happy to include faith into any session by request. I will not do so otherwise without request from the client.
As someone who has grown up in a mixed environment where the customs of my household are Thai but my surroundings are American, I am aware of the importance of cultural values in daily functioning and will always be mindful of it in treatement.
We often are torn right down the middle on options in life and need the motivation to explore difficult processes like change. Motivational interviewing is used very often in my style of practice.
Although I don't presently have an active group. It is something I am open to if I have a cohesive set of clients and have years of experience conducting group which I feel is very effective as it is a reminder that we are not suffering alone in this world and that we gain so much value from being able to relate and heal with others.
