Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I am passionate about working with individuals in creating generational healing within themselves and their families. I believe any healing starts within ourselves and identifying our own patterns and behaviors. The relationship we have with ourself has the power to transform our lives for the better and also improve relationships with those in our lives. I emphasize both in therapy. I approach therapy with a humanistic, client-centered, holistic and goal-oriented lens, focusing on reconnecting back to the self.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will entail getting to know each other better, introductions to expectations on both ends, and creating a plan for what therapy will look like moving forward. I always leave an option at the end of session to choose if you feel we are a good fit because I believe that finding the right therapist is crucial for therapy to work.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Working through my own patterns and behaviors in therapy helped me to realize that I did not have to stay in a lifestyle or mentality just because it was how I was raised or the only way I was shown. This personal experience inspires me daily to help others also discover the barriers and obstacles holding them back from the life they truly desire to live.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with individuals who are single, married, divorced, parents or not, and are struggling to adjust to the many changes that come along with life changes, life phases, and parenting. Sometimes the role and life change that comes with being a mother can be a silent struggle and I work to normalize this. It can be a struggle holding onto who you are while navigating new pressures, expectations, and struggles. We will work to create an ideal role for you and the relationships within you immediate or extended family dynamic. My goal to normalize the struggles that are common in our most valuable relationships and help people see that they are not alone. I do so by providing a safe, compassionate space to express vulnerability about struggles with parenthood, transitions into parenthood or through life cycle changes, and discover what they truly want out of their relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Utilizing CBT to identify thought and behavior patterns helps to figure out where we can take back the control and patterns that we feel out of touch with and keep us in survival mode. Beginning to understand our natural responses and choosing to make changes can bring down barriers for most people to begin living a life with better quality and reduce stress and/or anxiety.
Compassion Focused
Meeting people where they are is a priority in my therapeutic style. I approach every situation with a new perspective and leave no room for judgement within sessions.
Motivational Interviewing
Working with you rather than directing you. Figuring out what works for your life and lived experience to find solutions from within yourself.
